6lbs at 33 weeks

I just got back from my growth scan and baby is measuring big on the 90th centile and predicted to be 6lbs already. A doctor reviewed the scan after and said I probably won't be able to go past 39 weeks because of this but I also have Cholestasis so it's likely I'll be induced early anyway. Is anyone else having big babies? Do you think I will need a c section? I was really hoping to try and give birth vaginally.

There is only a 25% chance these are the right measurements, don’t worry too much. My growth scan at 32 weeks indicated at 8lb baby, he came out 5lb 3oz on the 9th centile xx

My baby was measuring big. I was due to meet a consultant at 39+5 and discuss my options. Fortunately for me baby was born 39+1, all natural - didn't need inducing etc. He was born 9lb 15oz, so basically 10lb. I didn't request any pain relief, labour wasn't too long but they did have to give me an episiotomy as I couldn't quite get his big old head out 🤣
It was a very positive experience for me, especially because I'd been told he was a "big baby" and to expect a c-section so naturally I was a bit worried.

Big babies don't always require c-sections so if you really don't want one then try and really get that across to them.
I feel like c-sections make their lives easier cos they can control the flow of women coming in but c-sections aren't easier for the mother!
Good luck ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I was told my baby was 6lb5oz at 33 weeks, and I had her 3 weeks later at 7lb5oz! The scans can be super inaccurate xx

Thank you for all your advice ladies, I'm definitely going to try and push for a vaginal delivery over a c-section especially now I know it might not even be accurate x

You won’t need a c section just cause of size especially since this is your first baby. If you had a c section then a large second baby they would strongly recommend it. You’ll definitely need an episiotomy though!

at 30 weeks my baby weighed 5 pounds and i made it to 38 weeks but i ended up getting preeclampsia and they gave me a decision whether or not i wanted to push him out he was weighing 9 pounds 12 ounces at the hospital and i chose to do a c section and he came out 10 pounds 10 ounces. I’m thankful i chose a c section😅

I was told my baby was 9lbs at 38 weeks and gave birth at 40+1 to what was predicted to be an 11lbs baby..she was 9lbs pretty much on the dot. They're sooo inaccurate don't stress too much about it! It wad also a vaginal delivery

Stretch and Sweep

Hi girls!
I am 41 weeks and I am booked in for a membrane sweep this morning. For the past 3 weeks I have been in false labour and have lost my mucus plug around 5 times.

How many of you have had successful sweeps please?

I feel like I am trying everything and baby girl is just too comfy haha

Hospital bag

I'm having my second baby at the end of the month and my first baby was an emergency c section. This time I'm doing scheduled c section. Any ideas what to pack specifically for a scheduled c section?

Name spelling

I’m due a second little boy in July! My husband and I have decided on a name but we are unsure on spelling as there are 2 variations. It is not a common first name and I am UK based where it is more commonly a surname. In the UK it is more commonly spelled Callaghan with the G which is silent and has Irish roots. However, as a first name it is used more frequently in America spelled Callahan. Opinions on with or without the G?

Any tips for avoiding induction again?

For context I have been induced 3 times at two weeks over. Babies never want to vacate lol this time round I would love to not have to have an induction. Are there anything that people have done that has helped? I’ve tried before all the usual walking, sex, spicy foods, pineapple, tea etc

C-section hospital bag question..

Never had a section before always gone straight home after birth.

How many pairs of underwear should I be packing? Is 3 pairs enough?

Also is there anything else you'd recommend if I have to stay in?
