I just had my 14 weeks ultrasound and guess what!!?? The gender is not the same as mentioned in NIPT result! We have dropped the idea of gender reveal to 20 weeks!! I'm confused, shocked and excited 😆😆

I would think the NIPT would be more accurate because chromosomes don’t lie, right?? I mean I can see how sneak peek could be inaccurate. And also with ultrasounds (especially this early on) it can be hard to see the gender for sure or you might think you see something but it’s actually the cord? I’m so intrigued to hear how this turns out!!

wow! now i’m nervous haha. do you know what company your NIPT test was through? mine is through invitae

So did they say you were having a boy and it’s looking like a girl or did they say you were having a girl and it’s looking like a boy?

😳 whoa! It’s most likely that the ultrasound was incorrect and the NIPT was the correct one. I’ve heard of lots of mistakes with ultrasounds not so many with NIPT unless it was taken too early?

It is a girl as per NIPT, boy as per ultrasound

Feeling the same!! But not really excited to find it out again any sooner! 😁

it's unity!

My GUESS would be that NIPT test is correct and ultrasound was showing swollen girl parts mistaken for a boy. Just my guess - could be wrong.

See at 14 weeks the ultrasound is still not 100% clear. Usually around 20+ weeks it’s a definite. I would think with NIPT it’s more accurate because they’re looking for the chromosome to determine from your blood!! Now I’m nervous!!

The sex parts start off the same , so that’s why with ultrasound you need to wait a long time( maybe about 18-20 week mark).

What was the fetal fraction % on your results? What week did you have the NIPT done? (Hospital administrator who deals with this stuff all day 🙃)

yes we decided to wait till 20 weeks

12% and 11w 5 days

at 12%. It’s a girl. I’d lean toward swollen or part of the cord between her legs.
I’ll be shocked to hear at your 20 scan week if they still say boy. I’ve been tracking this data for 5 years at work and only come across a wrong gender when the % is too low.

And I accidentally happen to see this 😂

I found in Tiktok that they are the 1 percent meaning they are the 1 %
Who got the inaccurate data. There baby is a girl in NiPT then they had a gender reveal then found out in ultrasound it’s a boy. One of the reason we decided not to do NIPT anymore.

NIPT is important to identify down syndrome and other abnormalities. Gender is just a bonus. You can prefer not knowing gender but get it done for other reasons.

Keep us posted, but more likely the ultrasound technician is wrong.

sure.. I think so! But we decided to wait for 20 weeks!

I know that’s why I told you one of the reasons.. it just adds to our anxiety. I have a coworker she even told me that her baby has trisomy so they undergone a lot of test etc. then it came out her baby was super genius. She is a Valedictorian in her class. So, we will wait until 20 th weeks.

Blood test are not as accurate as one would think ! My best friend did the blood test and after 3 boys was so excited to find out its a girl turns out it was a boy

not always I personally seen the blood test be wrong ! And my cousin is a obgyn nurse and said its wrong oftener then people think

This time I hope so! I badly want to be a boy mum!! 😁

i will keep my toes crossed for you ! And heres some baby dust boy magic poof ✨

@Aafira I know that’s why I told you one of the reasons.. it just adds to our anxiety. in my work I haven’t seen 6% be wrong.

Hi everyone!! Update on my post! Got the gender scan done just now and yes it is a girl!! NIPT was correct 😁

what about at 5%

does the fetal fraction interfere? I am at 10 weeks and fetal fraction 8% ( says is a girl)

wait cause my nipt says boy but my % is 11.98??? i went at 12 weeks exactly

Update: That's a perfect report! It's a girl and she arrived on 7th October

guys NIPT is way more accurate than an ultrasound. only 1% of nipt tests are wrong after ten weeks and 5% of ultrasound scans are wrong. blood is more sure.
