I recently had my 20 week scan and they identified that baby has a short femur length. All other measurements were normal. I’ve been referred for a consultant scan in a week and they’ve said it can be an indicator of a chromosomal or genetic abnormality. They also said he could just have shorter legs as neither me or my partner are tall. Has this happened to anyone else and what was the outcome? Our screening bloods were low risk for the genetic conditions they look for early on.

We have been through the same thing from the 24th week and on. My LO turned out healthy with no chromosomal or genetic abnormalities but it was stressful and we had growth scans every month.
Try not to worry because from what I saw in other people journeys and mine its not an indication for abnormalities always.
I hope you have an easy pregnancy and your baby turns out finexx
That’s reassuring to hear! I’m trying not to worry because that won’t change or help anything but it’s easier said than done. I’m hoping he’s just on the smaller side but healthy. The wait for the next scan is horrible. Glad your LO is all good!

We had the same from 30 weeks and were even referred to the fetal medicine unit which showed no other abnormalities but had growth scans every month. Baby boy born in Feb and absolutely perfect, some nurses even commented that he was quite long 😁🥰
