I think they’re pros and cons like paying more money than the food you actually ordered. Debate I had tonight. Thoughts? I personally don’t like it because if someone racks up the bill, I don’t feel like I should have to pay part of their bill if that makes sense.

It depends honestly. Girl if we went to chilis or something, I don’t mind splitting it. But if it’s a large group of us or we went somewhere fancy and I only order $10 chicken tenders and a soda and you ordered lobster and filet mignon for $70 with an appetizer and 3 drinks I’m not
paying for that lol.
I feel you. It will be Atleast a few of us at a Mexican grill but they want to reserve a room for an occasion which is almost $150-200 to reserve (to split) but the money goes towards the total bill. gratuity with that I’m sure is added. I hate paying more than expected, but I’m usually the odd ball. Call me cheap but…yea lol
Not sure yet one of my friends received a promotion so the rest of us are planning to surprise her. It’s a special occasion that I want to partake in but I don’t want to be stuck with anything too expensive.

I've never ever been to a dinner where it was all split equally; either someone was treating the table or you paid for your own meal. If you're planning to treat one person, one person should cover their meal and everyone else Venmo them their share.

Depends. My circle is small so we just figure it out as I'm usually only with one other person. If it's a larger group like me joining a friend and their friends, I'll pay my own (maybe my friend I'm close with as well) and that's it. Lol
