Constipation

Hi Mamas! Need guidance. My LO has been constantly constipated. I’ve been on top of her fibre foods and liquids. I even started giving her probiotics. But she probably only poops once or twice a week. I also notice her poops are long and hard that I would have to sit her on the toilet to help her and she’s only 22 months old. Not even 2 yet. Any advice on what to do? The only time she poops well is if I give her RestoraLAX but I don’t want to give that to her often.

I have to give my girl restoralax almost everyday. She’s got such hard poops sometimes it tears her bum up. I don’t have much else to suggest. I’ve had to give her a glycerin suppository once, and that did work well for when she was super uncomfortable

I make my daughter pear sauce when this happens to her instead of restoralax. It might help and get you away from using the restoralax. I couldn't get her to eat prune puree or juice ( I don't blame her I hate the taste as well lol) but pears are just as good for digestion/ constipation as prunes are. I put some water in a pot, slice up a few pears, sometimes I add a few apples and some cranberries for more flavor, let it boil untill the fruit is soft and mash to your kids preference. My daughter likes it with some fruit still chunky so I don't sauce it like you would applesauce. That part is preference. My daughter loves the sauce and eats it all the time. I hope this can help you too ❤

Did you try prunes? I use apple and prune sauce every day for my oldest. Unfortunately, if I don't, she's constipated, but it's going to regulate someday, I hope and otherwise, I'll keep feeding her that apple sauce
