16 week gender scan

Got my private gender scan tomorrow! Soo excited! Anyone had this and baby just isn’t playing ball so they can’t tell the sex?

Yeah sometimes they send you for a walk, my tip have a sugary drink and chocolate bar before it wakes baby up 😊

We had a private scan yesterday and it was the best think ever! We saw our baby girl yarning 😍 so cute

They recommend getting as hydrated as possible leading up to it to help the fluid around clear a little. So make sure you hydrate well today too!

I’ve got mine next week and im so excited. So much so that I pulled it forward by three days because I couldn’t wait x

It’s ours too!
With my first I had to have a cold sugary drink and do a couple of laps around the estate to get her in the right position - I have no doubt this baby will be the same 😂

For these scans is it a full bladder ladies? X

Avatar

on my email confirmation it said I didn’t need a full bladder x

mine says full bladder. Each place is different though

Ahh mine is tomorrow too 🥰🥰 xx

I didn’t have a gender scan but just a private scan at 16 weeks and she said if we wanted to (which we don’t) she couldn’t tell cause of position if baby. Haha but I beleive fizzy pop can help xx

I went for mine today and baby started in the correct position and then moved! The lady was very persistent though and asked me to do a couple of movements and asked me to lay on my side to get baby moving, there are things they can try before advising another scan don’t worry! ☺️

did you find out in the end? xx

Avatar

yeah I had to do some wiggling and then he stood up! She also pressed on my tummy around him to encourage him to move and I know of people who have gone out for a walk and when they’ve come back baby has been in the right position ☺️ try not to worry too much, have something sweet before you go in so baby has lots of energy! Xx

A trick I was taught is to not sit down when you get there keep moving around as that will keep baby moving! Also drink a cold drink 10-20 minutes before the scan😊 I did these and got the gender straight away!x

My scan was today and the baby was hyper, they were able to get a picture though

Yes 🙌🏻 we went on Saturday and baby was sat as a Buddha with its bottom down and they said I could come back today for a free rescan for gender . And luckily baby had turned after much effect of walking, poking, star jumps , ice water etc and

Reduced movements

Baby hadn’t moved for about 2 hours (that I can be sure of) but has now got hiccups and moving slightly again. Should I still go to triage or is that enough for things to be ok?

Growth scan

Just had a growth scan 35 + 2 and they said baby is weighing 3.5lbs, I had a growth scan at 28 weeks and he was 3lbs then. I’m back for a scan in 2 weeks but they said if he drops again they will look to induce me at 37-38 weeks now I’m scared!

Is anyone super sweaty down there?

I am around 21 weeks now, doing shopping today and was genuinely panicking my waters had leaked. Rang the local antenatal assessment and was suggested to change, pad up and monitor for an hour and go in to be checked if necessary. Been monitoring with toilet paper wads (as I didn't have maternity pads this early on!) and regular checking and luckily I think everything is okay... But seriously, was it just sweat??! Has anyone else experienced this?

Group B Strep positive labor and baby

Hi,
First time mom to be here, currently around 37 weeks.
Can anyone please share their experience of labor and how was the baby health in the first weeks, months when tested positive for GBS and receiving antibiotics during labor?
I was blessed to not have any serious complications during whole pregnancy and was really looking forward to unmedicated easy-ish birth hopefully and healthy baby but now is concerned about me being able to stay mobile during labor and having side effects for antibiotics, and for baby to have microbiome negative affects due to antibiotics taken..
Any insights or experience would be helpful.

Together or Separate 1st birthday

So I recently left my now ex partner and we’ve got a 10 month old… I’m just curious is it better to do one party or two separate ones? 🫠🫠 it’s still fresh but we are obviously having to communicate still- but we are hoping to remain friends in a way lol I’m just not sure which is smarter to do
