I’ve been looking more and more into natural birth and hypnobirthing. The idea and concept of it makes me excited for birth, but I worry it will be hard to accomplish in a hospital setting where medical intervention is more encouraged. Does anyone else have the same fears? I want to give birth at a hospital in case something goes wrong, but I’m really craving a more comfortable setting where I can let me body do it’s thing.
Right now I’m seeing an OBGYN but I’m in the process of switching to a practice that is exclusively midwife’s with doctors on hand in emergency. But even then it would still be a hospital birth and I think I just worry about hospital policies going against what’s best for my body.

I would just say they’re not all the same. I wanted a natural birth but baby wasn’t having it, I got induced, still wanted to go as natural as I could, I didn’t want the epidural, and my nurse made sure I knew it was MY choice. I ended up breaking down and getting it anyway but it was completely up to me, they didn’t force anything on me
that’s so good to hear! I feel like lately all I’ve heard is horror stories

I do have all the same fears. If you do end up choosing hospital, I would recommend maybe hiring a doula to be your advocate for what you want in that setting so doctors don’t try to get too pushy.
