Nervous about Labor/Delivery

I’m getting induced at 38 weeks which is in 3 weeks because the baby is measuring small (lots of anxiety from this one). 😬 I am sooo nervous as I have a low threshold for pain. All I hear are horror stories about pitocin inductions. The foley bulb methods sounds like a nightmare. Im afraid of needles so the idea of an IV freaks me out. Im going to start drinking raspberry leaf tea and eating dates next week when I’m 36 weeks. Will do curb walking. I’m just praying my body is somehow ready for labor on it’s own in 3 weeks and I can deliver this baby safely. Looking for words of encouragement 😅

Just curious if there is another reason they would be inducing you at 38 weeks? I was supposed to have an induction at 38 weeks cause of complications I've been having and being high risk but they canceled it because baby is measuring small and they want me to keep her in as long as possible.

Girl I feel you about the low threshold for pain and afraid of needles. Even the dentist has a note in my file, they give me laughing gas even just for cleanings because I get such bad anxiety. And now gotta birth a child 😫 we got this though!

no just the baby being small.

I hope so. I am being told that pain is so bad, the needles won’t even matter and I’ll be begging for that epidural 😂

Now I'm stressing on why they canceled my induction and considering getting a second opinion. Lots of love and prayers for you and your baby, you got this Mama!

don’t stress, just ask the doctors questions and have faith. It’s possible that our cases are completely different and that your baby needs to stay in longer and mine needs to come out. Also, these scans about baby growth are all “estimates.” They are often wrong about it. Sending you and your baby lots of prayers, good vibes and health. Everything will be fine for us both.

How small is baby measuring? I’m hearing the same thing to be induced at 38 weeks because the baby is 4 pounds and 15 ounces… and I’m 35 weeks

Avatar

yes, mine is around the same. Hoping the baby will gain some more weight in the next 3 weeks. They told me I can go to full term if I want just increased chances of things going wrong which obviously freaks me out and I’m not going to take chances. Time to start drinking that raspberry tea, eating dates and curb walking sister!!!

I’m actually currently in the hospital because my BP was elevated and I already have gestational diabetes so they’re monitoring me and baby and I’m doing a 24 hour urine sample for high protein in my urine… so far everything has been good, but I was told if the protein is high in the 24 hour urine sample I have to stay until I give birth which could be anytime in the next 3 to 4 weeks🥲

fingers crossed for you. Sending you and baby lots of love, positivity and prayers. No matter what, you’ll both get through this.

Day out after c section

Hey,
I had an emergency c section 1 week ago I obviously don't want a day out right now but I have things booked for the Easter holidays so in 2 weeks. I was just wondering if I will be overdoing it if I have a day out then or will I be ok? I would still take it as easy as I could. When did everyone feel good enough to go out?

Period like cramps

Hi
I’m currently 33 weeks pregnant and I keep getting period like cramps I thought these were Brixton hicks but I’ve heard they only last 30 seconds ish as this can go on for a good time frame then go away and come back, they aren’t bad enough where I can’t do basic things they just feel like I’m about to get my period I’m jus wondering how normal this is? Baby is still very actively kicking xx

C section or natural?

I am a control freak and thinking c section is the least stressful route for me and baby… less complications during labour etc. whilst acknowledging recovering can be hard.
If it could be guaranteed no tearing or complications then I would opt for natural and kind of want to experience the feeling.
Then again could plan and go either way 😂 arghh!
Anyone else in this predicament?

Midwife check

Can someone remind me when the midwife visits you at home? Is it the day after you’re discharged? And is that the same on the weekend or do they not visit then? Thanks!
