Cord cutting

I’m due to have my c section in 3 weeks time and I was wondering if my partner would be able to cut the cord?
With my last c section, it was emergency so he could only trim the cord. Wasn’t sure if this would be the same thing again?

It would be trim only. Noone is allowed down past your shoulders. They will cut it and leave it long for dad to cut x

Mine was a scheduled c section. They cut the cord initially. Then my hubby cut it again over to the side I guess that’s what you’re calling a trim. In the U.S

They only let my partner trim the cord at my elective x

did they cut the cord or trimmed it? I doubt he would have been allowed down by your knees to cut it. Otherwise the surgeon cuts it leaving it super long for partner to trim x

I've had three c sections and all 3 were the same x

I had a C sect in June and my husband cut the cord! The asked in advance at the last booking in appts and checked again just before we went down to theatre

Sorry should have read properly first, my husband cut after the surgeon had cut originally so I guess your trim description

did he cut it when baby was taken away from you?

They gave my partner the option to cut it with my c section.

I think UK is different to US. I think we can only trim it in UK

My husband did, he jokes that he saw my insides but joking aside he did see me open on the operating table, luckily he’s not squeamish

Yes he trimmed an already cut cord on the table away from me and once baby had had a little check she came back to me for skin to skin

Period like cramps

Hi
I’m currently 33 weeks pregnant and I keep getting period like cramps I thought these were Brixton hicks but I’ve heard they only last 30 seconds ish as this can go on for a good time frame then go away and come back, they aren’t bad enough where I can’t do basic things they just feel like I’m about to get my period I’m jus wondering how normal this is? Baby is still very actively kicking xx

Day out after c section

Hey,
I had an emergency c section 1 week ago I obviously don't want a day out right now but I have things booked for the Easter holidays so in 2 weeks. I was just wondering if I will be overdoing it if I have a day out then or will I be ok? I would still take it as easy as I could. When did everyone feel good enough to go out?

C section or natural?

I am a control freak and thinking c section is the least stressful route for me and baby… less complications during labour etc. whilst acknowledging recovering can be hard.
If it could be guaranteed no tearing or complications then I would opt for natural and kind of want to experience the feeling.
Then again could plan and go either way 😂 arghh!
Anyone else in this predicament?

Midwife check

Can someone remind me when the midwife visits you at home? Is it the day after you’re discharged? And is that the same on the weekend or do they not visit then? Thanks!
