Hi ♥️
Just looking for some reassurance, I have GD and I’ve been tracking since Wednesday every figure has been fine apart from fasting which has been lowering today was 5.4♥️
I have letters coming out of my ears and it’s just making me feel sick to my stomach 💔 my 28 week growth scan was perfect she was doing fab 🌈 I’m just really anxious today about my 32 week growth scan 💫
Some people I have spoken to have been amazing but others have just responded saying I need to calm down.
Mentally I’ve been through a lot and struggle with health Aniexty which isn’t my fault 😭
Giving my dad cpr, suffering a miscarriage I think I’m allowed a bit of Aniexty ♥️
I don’t know why I’m nervous but I’m worried ill go in at 32weeks and they say that’s it get her out 😭

32 weeks is way too early for them to recommend getting baby out unless she’s in imminent danger. I wouldn’t worry my love . Everything will happen in its right time just hope for postive outcomes❤️❤️❤️

Thank you my normal midwives are lovely but the one I spoke to today was horrible.
She was perfect at 28 weeks and my diabetic nurse said she’s not going to become a 10lb baby in the space of 4 weeks 🤣🤣♥️

I think your diabetic nurse is right, plus if you have your blood sugar well under control, then you’ve reduced any risk from GD right down to almost nothing.
Don’t forget that stress is also known to cause havoc with sugar levels.
Pregnancy is a stressful time for some (it certainly has been for me for sure), so please try and stay calm.
You’re doing a great job with managing your health for the sake of the baby, do make sure to give yourself credit for that and rest assured that the little one is safe. Hope this scan goes perfectly well!
Not long to go until the grand finale anyways, so fingers crossed it all goes smoothly!

Try not to worry. They won’t want baby out this early at all.
I don’t have GD, but at a growth scan yesterday (28 weeks) my baby was measuring nearly 3 weeks ahead, so there was a bit of a stressful hullabaloo for an hour & lots of weird looks from midwives I had never met. Finally got to chat to the diabetes midwife & she was like, I’ll leave you alone for now, but if baby is big at the 30 week scan, we need to test for GD again. I’m small, but my husband is tall and weighed 9lb6, so I think I just have a big baby. I think some medical professionals are so overworked that they forget we can be sensitive or extra anxious during this time. Hold the scan goes well xx

Sorry to hear that you had a stressful scan yesterday. Did your fundal height measure high too? Or was it just the scan that showed a bigger baby?
My last fundal height came high and I’m now waiting for a growth scan, which is a week and half away.
I’ve had a negative OGTT too for GD and do occasionally monitor my blood sugar at home and it tends to be normal.

sounds like you’re doing an amazing job!! I had gd with my first and it definitely is enough to give anyone crazy anxiety..and some healthcare people i came across were really ignorant/horrible about it!
But really don’t worry it sounds like you’re in control! They said my first one was measuring large on my 32 week scan and she was actually born on the lowest weight centile so even the scans aren’t completely reliable so take them with a pinch of salt! I think it’s only a worry if your sugars sky rocket and are not controlled x

I have GD too and I’m on insulin for it as my fasting sugars are high no matter what I do I take it 3 times a day. I had a growth scan at 28 weeks and she was measuring at 3lb, i then got sent for a scan at 30 weeks and she was measuring 4lb2 I have a scan next week at 32 weeks so I’m unsure how much she would have grown but taken into account I have a bigger baby and I’m on insulin for GD they’ve said around 37-38 week is when I’ll have baby. Having GD isn’t our fault and it can’t be helped it can only be monitored so if your doing everything that your midwives and diabetic team have said to do then don’t worry I understand some are nicer than others I’ve had my fair share too but just keep going how your going and try not to worry🫶🏼 if it makes you feel any better my fasting sugars this morning were 8.7 so I’ve had my insulin dose doubled today x

Just for some reassurance, I found out the day before my due date that I had gestational diabetes. I had been craving chocolate and sweets so most days was having a whole bar of chocolate. So yh the exact opposite of keeping it under control my entire pregnancy 😂 anyway she is a perfectly healthy happy 2.5 Yr old now. I did have a c section but it was due to other issues (non progression and sepsis). Hope that helps put your mind at ease x

Thank you all so much ♥️♥️♥️
I feel like some just don’t care and some are lovely ♥️
Every time I’ve listened to them my levels have gone up 🤦🏼♀️ today was told up my carbs at tea done that and they are 8.2.
I’ve only been tracking since Wednesday and they have already said I’ll be on tablets so I don’t feel like I’m giving much chance to understand my body.
I had special k that went up so that’s banned. Had more carbs tonight and it’s gone up.
Every night it’s been 5.8/6 after food so I’m going to tell them that ♥️

It’s so nice hearing all your experiences aswell ♥️♥️

Hope the scan today went well!

I don’t know about my fundal height yet, as the midwife hasn’t started measuring it yet. I’d had this scan because I had reduced movements last week & they were checking things out. Baby is fine. I should say that this entire pregnancy, my baby has measured big … always several weeks ahead and it’s an IVF baby, so my dates are exact 😂 x

it’s for sure trial and error and finding what doesn’t spike, I found I could hardly eat ANY carbs but could have a tiny bit of ice cream 😂 definitely stand up for yourself and if you would like to try to manage it with diet alone…it sounds like your numbers aren’t that high so you might not even need tablets..and like you said it’s just been two days…it took me like 1-2 weeks to find what worked for me! Good luck and I think after the initial shock from the diagnosis you’ll feel better about it soon x

I have GD too. Honestly I wouldn't worry, you're 32 weeks and your last scan was perfect. My fasting levels have been high most of my pregnancy and I'm on Metformin and insulin to reduce them. If you diabetic nurses think you need them they will advise. Keep calm (easier said than done) try to keep in contact with your GD clinic and your midwife about it even for reassurance. You're doing great mama xx
