Hello, I’m currently 37+6 and went to see my consultant yesterday who has now put me on blood sugar monitoring for a week as my baby is measuring to be 8lb at 40 weeks.
He said, if my levels are high then I’ll need to be induced at week 39.
Does this sound about right?
Also, would love to hear from anyone who is in the same position. I’m finding my levels are high…
Thank you x

I had a growth scan yesterday at 36 weeks she’s measuring 6lb 13oz! They’re sending me a letter to be induced for 39 weeks which works out the dates of the strikes! So I don’t know what will happen about that, however I’m hoping she’ll come naturally before induction.
I’m on metformin for breakfast and have struggled to fill my belly and keep levels in range, I tend to eat wholemeal bread, pasta and rice, Greek yogurts, rice and oat cakes, plenty of fruit and salad, not so much veg as we’ve not got back into that yet.
Tea times are easier to cook for but I’m sick to death of peanut butter on toast 🤨😢 x

At 36+3 my consultant asked me to test for a week. The at 37 weeks they confirmed I had GD. Today I saw my consultant again at 38+3 they are happen with my figures. They have advised I can not go past 40weeks so are going to do an induction at 39 + 3.

I have GD and my levels were fine until week 36 my midwife told me it can fluctuate in the later weeks due to hormones preparing for labour and as long as it’s not every meal that spikes it’s hardly a big concern and my son is measuring just right for 37+6 weeks it’s not always correct with measuring they told my aunt on all 3 of hers they would be really big babies and all 3 were 7lbs or under and she had GD on all 3 too
