Hi, we started weaning few weeks ago and my baby is not really enjoying it. We started with single veg purée and finger food of same veg. He usually puts everything in his mouth but with food he barely touches it and we also give spoonfuls of purée of the same veg and he’s not enjoying it at all. Tried at different times of the day and doesn’t make a difference. I know it takes time and I’m not rushing him but I’m curious to know if someone else is experiencing this? I thought about trying with fruit to see if this changes?

That happen with me. I started with unsweetened apple sauce instead but I quickly moved back to veggies. You can also try the baby oatmeal and try thinning it out more so it’s like liquid that helped too. My MIL told me to add a little applesauce in with veggies so it’s sweeter so he wanted to eat it after ofc you know there’s no reactions to apples

It takes time...it's not so much about the taste ( takes at least 10 tries for them to "like" the food) it's them getting used to textures and none milk food. I wouldn't add apple sauce to stuff - you're just setting yourself up for them to become attached to sweet tastes. Do you have solid starts app? Keep going with different foods, they will get there. It might be a lengthy process but when they get it its such a nice thing to see them enjoying foods. They tend to 'taste' with hands first too so if they feel everything too, don't be put off. All normal.

How old is baby? I'd just give it a few weeks and.try again x
Thanks all. He’s going to be 6m next week. Yes, I’m using the solid starts app
