Hey guys, I need some advice or some positivity here!
My daughter is 5 months next week and she has her first tooth coming through! Yay! But for the past month or so she has become so wary of family whenever I go to visit! She screams, won’t settle, cries the whole time. I went for my birthday to celebrate and I had to leave because she just would cry looking at anyone :( it’s so hard because she used to be so good with anyone!
Will this change or is this just the way she is? I try to see them as often as I can, and my MIL is looking after her in two weeks overnight and part of a day and I’m petrified of what’s going to happen, that she’s going to scream. My poor MiL 😭. I’m a very calm and collected person and I don’t get worked up when she does react this way… I just feel so sad and down that I can’t be with family and that my poor girl is scared. I give her so many cuddles, milk, toys, going to a quiet room, but she just doesn’t settle 😭
Please someone say this is a phase and there is light at the end of the tunnel ?!!
With the weather getting nicer I just feel we are going to miss out on so many lovely family memories

I think this is just a phase x

It's definitely a phase lovely! If you look into the wonder weeks app it describes exactly this and explains why it's happening too 🥰🥰

So sorry to hear you’re going through this lovely but it is just a phase I promise! My daughter had a spell of it when she was 5 months, it’s when they’re starting to work out relationships and start to have some stranger anxiety and clinginess - I highly recommend the wonder weeks book (and website) it gives so much insight to what they are going through and helps you understand and help them through it! Hang in there 🩷

The 4th mental leap that causes sleep regression can also cause fear of you leaving, and of strangers and make them super clingy. It's just a phase!

Definitely just a phase. My daughter has been in it since 12 weeks and is only really enjoying people again now. It is really rough going but maybe just take it one person at a time. I find my little girl is most comfortable with strangers when they're in our house and they interact with her from my knee first

This is definitely just a milestone around 5-6 months babies become wary of people who they don’t see all the time don’t worry to much x
My daughter started Reception this September, and it seems like they watch one or two cartoons every day. One is usually *Numberblocks*, but the other changes—sometimes it’s *Bluey*, sometimes *Zog*...I’m not too happy about this, but I don’t know if it’s common for schools to use cartoons for various reasons. I wouldn’t want to be the only mom complaining 😅

Hey, I’m just posting because I’ve got horrendous mum guilt. I have a 3 year old and now a 3 month old. Prior to having my baby, I was out with 3 year old all the time, always busy. That’s obviously not been the case since having baby. We still do go out but I feel like it isn’t as often. Am I just being harsh on myself? I just find it so overwhelming at the minute but don’t want my toddler to feel like the bar has dropped!

Hi people. I can’t stand my man since having my baby. He has nowhere near met my expectations of how he should help and trust me, I’m not too demanding. He’s not changed one nappy, one outfit, doesn’t wake up for night feeds. All I ask is when its early morning close to time he gets up for work to just give a fricking bottle and let me catch up on sleep and he says he’s got work. He is a provider and chooses to work his second job on weekends so we basically have a day a week as a family. I literally hate this man now, have NO desire to have sex and don’t even want to stay faithful. I know I should just leave but my baby is so young and I really didn’t want this for myself. It’s a hard pill to swallow that this is my current situation…

Hi everyone! My little boy is 8 and half months old, we have been trying to wean him since 6 months but he is still not that interested, he doesn’t like purées as he won’t open his mouth for a spoon, and if I give him the spoon he uses his other hand to scrap the food off. We are mainly doing BLW which he will happily put the food in his mouth, but if he gets any in his mouth, he will gag and spit it out. Anyone having anything similar? He is still having breastmilk as I know their nutrition all still comes from their milk until they are 1, I’m just worried he is taking a long time to grasp the concept of swallowing food

We really want to potty train our little girl, however she won’t go when she sits on the potty 🧐 she enjoys sitting on the potty however she won’t let herself wee when sitting on it. Any tips would be really appreciated!
