Best is to ask the pharmacist before buying they will.advise x

Speak with pharmacist but I am in exactly the same position and will be going tomorrow! My midwife did however say it was fine to purchase cream and pessary on my own, just not the tablets (which to be honest I didnāt even know they did anyway). X

I've been prescribed canesten from GP whilst pregnant, the duo with cream and pessary so yes it is safe to us. Just do not take the oral tablet that's not safe in pregnancy
Thank you!

Iām a pharmacistš. Do not use the applicator if you are going to use the pessaries and donāt buy oral tablets.
They might tell you that you need a prescription for it but if the midwife told you to buy it, you should be okay.
that's great thank you!

what is the reason why itās advised not to use the applicator when using the pessary?

I was told itās fine to buy, however I found the cream didnāt do much help for me. They prescribed me a tablet pessary which worked, and I found the gel pessary that you can buy didnāt work for me. But everyone is different š

can I ask why not to use the applicator? My friend is a midwife and I questioned how the applicator would be any different from having sex 𤣠she answered āgood pointā , itās going in the same place?

I went into the pharmacy last night to pick up canesten that the midwife requested but they hadnāt received it yet & they wouldnāt let me buy anything other than the cream, they wouldnāt sell me the pessary without a prescription- which is annoying because I could just go to a supermarket and buy it anyway! But the midwife told me that itās no use just using the cream you need to use the pessary as well x I would just go an buy it if you canāt wait x

following this, Iāve been prescribed it twice and the midwife/doctor have never said not to use the applicator, but when I went into the pharmacy the first time they never mentioned it either but yesterday told me āIāve got to be really careful with the pessaryā but I donāt understand why? What is it going to do?

must be something to do with If you don't get it straight, you might hurt in there and bleed (if that makes sense). I don't know if you did a swab but they also say to be careful and not go too deep with the thin stick š

it doesnāt have a licence to be sold over the counter if pregnant or over 60 but they do sell it in supermarket. It doesnāt make sense, I know
