Anyone else in a similar situation??
For my last 2 growth scans I’ve been told baby is measuring on the bigger side. Sent for a GD test at 34 weeks that came back negative. Went for my growth scan today at 36 weeks and 6 days and was told baby’s measuring roughly 7 pound 12 already and that they want to induce me at 39 weeks. Expressed my concerns of baby’s size and that I didn’t want to wait so long but felt like my feelings weren’t taken into consideration and that I wasn’t listened to. I’ve been asked to come back next Friday where I will be 37+6 for a sweep and to see a consultant again and if I am still worried to discuss my concerns. Has anyone else been told there baby is loads bigger then it should be but baby’s been delivered smaller??
Feel like I’ve been left to feel anxious about how much bigger he’s going to get over the next 2 weeks when he’s already nearly hitting 8 pounds😢😢

I personally haven’t experienced it but my sister did throughout her growth scans and was getting induced a week early but he decided to make an appearance 8 days early before being induced and weighted 8lb 13! My growth scan at 33 weeks was said my baby has larger stomach but not to worry just yet, I have my last scan on Monday at 36w5d. But I’m hoping I can go hill she’s ready to come.
I wouldn’t worry🥰

Hi , I’m having the exact same issues. Haven’t delivered yet though. But I’m worried too
Im 37 + 5 today and baby is estimated weight nearly 9lb .. I know they can get this wrong . My GD test was negative , but then this week they wanted me to monitor my bloods at home and they have now diagnosed me with gestational diabetes. Spoke to a consultant. They said about induction or C-section at 39 weeks .. as I’m on the petite side I’m only just over 5ft I was concerned about delivery complications so opted for a c section. Then I got my section date yesterday and it’s for my exact due date at 40 weeks.
I called them and said this was not what I was informed , I was told due to the GD and size of baby the section would be earlier to avoid going into spontaneous labour but also I explained how much pain I’m in currently , can’t lie on either side of my body , pelvic pain and pressure , Back pain , getting no sleep at all… I just got sorry that’s the only date we have for a section

The scans can be something like 30% off on weight, I really wouldn’t worry too much. 39 weeks is now considered full term as it used to be 37. I’m having a section due to last baby being almost 10lbs but I was told he’d be 8lbs. Believe it or not they know what their doing but completely understand the anxiety, the sweep could work and you could go into labour and bigger babies tend to be quicker 😜 my 10lber was 5 hours from arriving at hospital till he was born. Don’t stress yourself out! Everything will be okay and you’ll have your baby soon! Ps bring lots of 0-3 clothes to hospital instead of newborn xx

Hiya, growth scan this morning at 37 weeks exactly and weighing an estimated 7lbs 15 😱.
Got diagnosed with late onset GD only yesterday so I don't have a consultant appointment until Thuradays to discuss options.
Feel free to message me as I'm also feeling the anxiety!
