Overwhelmed EBF

Do you ever just feel like taking the “easier” route? Like do you ever just feel like using formula instead of waking up to breastfeed in the middle of the night or missing out on drinking alcohol as you please?..not to mention the daily pumping to make sure baby has a bottle when you go to the grocery store or the gym….or the constant worries of if you’re producing enough milk

Or taking the easier route and not cooking and puréing food at home and just buying food off the shelf.

Or taking the easier route of not trying to be your own Ms. Rachel for your child… and put them in front of the TV…

Sometimes I just feel like it’s a lot and seems so much easier to do things differently. I just want to stick with it and hopefully I get my flow. I love my baby so much and I’m not judging others who choose different routes and maybe the things I mentioned aren’t easier, but more convenient.

Today I found myself just wanting to spontaneously have a glass of wine, but with me EBF I have to plan my drinking ahead of time. I think I’m in need for a mommy break, but it’s hard. I always want to be there when my baby wants to nurse or wants my attention. I have so much more empathy for moms. I’m always just hoping I’m doing the “right” and “best” things for my baby. Anyways just needed to get that off my chest I guess lol

Hey I feel you and guess what I wanted to do everything my way no tv no store bought no formula but it was hard but I supplemented with formula when I needed to and let him watch mrs rachel when I need a little break. I don’t like store bought food because of the ingredients but my boy isn’t that much into solids yet so making my own hasn’t been to terrible and now he is formula only due to getting pregnant again and my supply dropped completely and guess what he is just as happy as can be and girl have a glass of wine pump and dump and move on it’s not the end of the world as some make it be. Take care of you to be a better mom for your little one take a break and you are NOT a bad mom for giving in to certain things you didn’t want to originally. I find it that if I do it in moderation that’s my key with him.

congratulations on expecting again! And thanks for your words and reading my long post because I was sure no one would 🤣 and I think with me being a SAHM I put more pressure on myself and my husband keeps telling me not to..

Hey I am a SAHM for now to I do go back to work once a week soon and girl we are the worst at putting so much pressure on us for no reason at all. So go have fun and enjoy your self a little

I EBF twins. I think about stopping and switching atleast once a day. I also have a toddler running around and sometimes turning the TV on all day gets him to stop getting into everything and gives me a moment of silence. I also do a mix of store bought baby food and homemade baby food. Soon they will be eating stale French fries off the floor or dirt. Lol

There's no perfect way to parent! I think you're doing amazing! Also, have that glass of wine! The amount of alcohol that actually gets into breastmilk is so minimal. If you can find baby and hold baby you're fine! I have a drink here and there, some days it's needed.

Wow you are amazing! I can’t imagine! Thank you I finally had a glass today! lol

all of your feelings are valid ❤️ any mom that worries about being the “best”, already is. children need love + a listening ear, everything else is truly arbitrary. but i think the same things you do! also.. have a glass of wine!! you don’t need to pump and dump. drinking while feeding means baby will get the milk already stored, but even if you feed after the glass, baby will get like 0.002% of alcohol. some juices have that amount. be easy on yourself, motherhood ain’t for the weak 😅

You described my feelings perfectly, I'm hanging in there, 6 months in, and 6 more to go, which is my goal, but actually thinking about formula a lot, let's see what happens

Avatar

You can drink wine girl while you breastfeed

Avatar

I ebf too it takes alot ok you but I honestly can't see my self doing it any other way

Yes!! I have the same goal I’m just trying to push through!

Is this normal?

Is it just my husband that does this? He is able to work from home via his computer and in the mornings and evenings he is on there doing his job. When he is done for the day he tends to stay in the room and either play video games or watch something. He will occasionally come out and play with the girls for a few minutes and that’s it but when I really need him he says he is busy. My daughters are both 1 year old now and I am just wondering how much involvement should he have with them now?
Idk if this is the norm or not…..

Tablet for kids

Alright don’t need any negative Nancy’s telling me not to get my 2yo a tablet so if that’s what your gunna do please don’t participate in my poll.

We’re about to move cross country 3+ day trip and my 2yo and 9m hate the car I’m talking scream their heads off till they are out of their seats. We’ve already changed car seats and it didn’t help so I’d like to at least have one entertained and sit next to baby and try and distract her or put her to sleep. Our new car has tvs but since they are rear faced my 2yo can’t see it.

Debating getting her a tablet or dvd player right now on long car rides I end up giving her my phone because I get so overwhelmed sitting in between both of them screaming and crying.

And yes I do bring different toys I bring snacks I play songs try to distract her other ways but for the sake of not losing my mind on this move I think this is best.

-A very overwhelmed and anxious to move mama 😓

5 month old activities

Hey everyone my baby is 5 months old and I want to reduce/cut screen time as I have read up on how bad it is what activities did people do to keep their baby entertained. Thank you in advance.

Daycare?

Thoughts on daycare?? Truly, I am SCARED to be leaving my kid for daycare. I literally do not trust anyone, not even family (they haven’t given me a reason it’s just trust issues on my end, you never know). He’s turning 3 and I’ve been a sahm the whole time but tbh my man doesn’t make enough for us to move out somewhere more calm . We live in a ‘not so safe’ area in LA and I’m just not used to living here so I just want us to give my son a better life and in order to speed up the process I would have to work.. I do lashes at home and I’d be open to take new clients so I wouldn’t have to look for work but I’m just scared to lose my license 😭
