Hey mamas, I’m 36 w and 5 d and my baby is still in breech. My doctor scheduled a Ecv for next week. Anyone else have experience with ecv and is it painful? Have you had success with canal delivery after? I heard there is a risk for water breaking during the procedure

I don’t know why your doctor is having it done so early. Babies lungs are not even finish developing until the end of 37 weeks.
ECV is usually scheduled at the end of 37 weeks because the assumption is that they will not flip back.
Your doctor does not have to pick and choose this date for you, you actually have a choice. Despite whatever they say is recommended. All this stuff is online, they can’t hide statistics and information from you. It break blood vessels and is done pretty rough in the US compared to Germany (they have an actual slow technique that doesn’t require epidural because it’s painless). I’d ask the success rate of whoever is performing it for you and also the last time they did one, what the turn out was etc.
Personally, I’d wait until 39 weeks to have that done because 50% chance is that it’s going straight into a C-section if they break your water, disturb the placenta (depending on its position) etc. And also, they can definitely flip back if they want to.

Also! Find out what kind of breech your baby is. It might help you to figure out which side to sleep on more/less and which spinning babies techniques to do more often. Baby can still flip at this point though so Don’t let them make you worry.

That’s right duh! Acupuncture definitely can help! Totally forgot! Moxibustion on outer cuticle of pinky toes. And chiro! Yes! Whew bringing back memories Grayson 😆

I decided against having an ECV because I was told it’s a 50% success rate. It might just be the way my baby is. I have a scheduled c section for 39 weeks since they don’t want to risk me going into labor. I also did the spinning babies techniques since 28 weeks and I talked to a few people that had the ECV and it wasn’t worth it in My opinion but I would do your own research. If I were to get it done it would have been 37 weeks as well

My baby is breech (Frank breech) and has been since 36 weeks (had been head down for the previous 4 weeks🤦♀️). I had the ECV done and it was incredibly painful. They tried for about 15 actual maneuvering minutes (45 minutes overall) and baby's head moved from under my left breast to under my right but babies butt would NOT move.
It was incredibly painful, I am glad I tried because I am really set on a vaginal delivery. But in my experience, it's not for the faint of heart. I've also been doing spinning babies, acupuncture and moxibustion the past 2 weeks...but as of 37+5, baby is still breech.
I think if baby was sideways or something, it would have been successful but baby was just so comfy with their butt planted in my pelvis.
We have a C-section scheduled now for 39+4 (earliest they could schedule us after the 39 week mark). But I'm still doing some spinning babies and they'll check at each appt going forward.
