private scan - when and where?

After 2 early losses I’d like to have a private scan ASAP with this pregnancy for some reassurance. I don’t want to go too early and be stressed about not seeing a heartbeat though! I was thinking of going at 8 weeks (since my LMP). Is this an ok time to go for one, or still too early? Also where did everyone go? Private hospital / window to the womb etc? X

I went to ultrasound direct at what I thought was 7-8 weeks but turned out I was more like 10 weeks… I personally think it was a great time to see baby for the first time because she looked more like a ‘baby’ I guess? I think 8 weeks would still be a good amount of time, all the best x

I went at 8 weeks to window to the womb and so glad I did! That 12 week scan wait would have been horrible otherwise lol!

I went when I was around 7week to window to the womb and it was really good.

Thanks so much ladies. Can I ask for those who went at 8 weeks was it an abdominal scan or vaginal? Just been looking on some of the websites of the places you went to and some say vaginal which I wasn’t expecting x

If it’s under 10 weeks I think it’s usually vaginal one. Think it’s because there’s no guarantee they’ll be able to see it properly with a normal ultrasound because it’s still so small 👍

I went to universal ultrasound diagnostics they were amazing, friendly, place was clean, sonographers we’re amazing

Mine was vaginal at 10+4 but I think that’s more because I’m a bigger girl!

Mine was vaginal at 8 weeks which was fine and not uncomfortable x

Window to the womb but best to leave to at least 6/7 weeks xx

Also vaginal baby is too small for abdominal xx

I went at 7+4 , had a vaginal scan. Could see the baby and the heartbeat. Was very reassuring

If you had two early losses and you’re worried, you can ask the NHS for an early scan. I did that and as there were complications I also had a private scan at 19 weeks and that was done at window to the womb

I went on Thursday i was 7w 1day had an abdominal scan and could see the baby, yolk sac and heartbeat flickering xx

I went at 8 weeks to “ Meet my miracle”

8 weeks is good, you need to see heartbeat by then if things are ok and baby looks at least a little like a person by then (they look like a gummy bear).

I did 6 weeks at hosp due to previous loses. Have a ten week booked next weekend with ultrasound direct, to ease nerves as sure this will be a mmc

Window to the womb had both babies scans there, just had my gender scan for our second they are really good!

We used window to the womb for privrste scans throughout the pregnancy! They were so nice and we purchased a heartbeat bear each trip to track his heartbeat getting stronger 💖

8 weeks at meet your Miracle, abdominal scan, couldn’t see much but heard the heartbeat and saw something 😂

@Becky I thought I was 7+ 6, measuring at 8+1. They only do abdominal where I went.

Having been there, I know how hard that wait is but if you can hold out til 9/10 weeks, the scan will be so much better. The earlier you go, you could end up not being as far along and scans can be inconclusive and cause more worry. I'm so glad we held out. Luckily, we got our rainbow, but if it was going wrong again, we'd have had a definitive answer then rather than back and forth like the first time. Wishing you the best of luck 🤞🏼🍀

I went to window to the womb for a reassurance scan and it was a wonderful experience. I think 8 week is a really good time to go as I know how hard it is to wait but it’s also not too early. It will be transvaginal x

I went to universal ultrasound diagnostics twice, one at 7 weeks and one at 10 weeks honestly I was blown away how professional they was, they are brand new company but I wouldn’t go else were, chaperones professional, sonographers extremely professional take there time answer any questions you need to ask, photos of baby ( even though my 7 week one was a blob ) and a report to take away with us.

Pregnant with baby 2

Hi everyone! I gave birth via emergency c section 9 months ago as my baby boy was measuring big, he pooped inside so there was risk of him inhaling it and I wasn’t progressing past 3cm to have a natural birth and now I’m currently 20 weeks pregnant with my 2nd baby. I’m having a consultation on Tuesday to talk about birth options and to have any questions answered but I don’t know what to ask. I feel like it would be safer having a c section again but at the same time I don’t want a c section. Does anyone have any question ideas I could ask or any advice/stories of similar situations. Tia

I have a feeling like I might get attacked from this but I’m going to say it anyways. incognito 🥸 GLP1s being mainstream for regular people who are NOT diabetic or morbidly obese is bad for so many reasons 💉💉💉

Side affects, long term dependency, supply shortages and costs, regaining the weight back as soon as you get off them.. all that ASIDE how do people not see just from a zoomed out perspective how crazy it is. I can’t imagine being someone facing food insecurity in an underdeveloped country and watching westerners give themselves daily jabs so they can lose weight while still eating a calorie surplus/ crappy foods. It’s giving hunger games when district 12 Katniss finds out at the party at the capital that people eat and then take a pill to make themselves sick so they can 🤮 and eat some more. These ads running ozempic everywhere are disgusting, and then getting amazing athletes like Serena Williams to push them talking bout “i’ve never been healthier” girl you were an OLYMPIC athlete wym??

Has anyone had a planned c section and been home the same day?

Getting pregnant after c section

When did you get pregnant again after a c section? Our plan was always to have 2 under 2 but that is now out the window because I had an emergency section. I know they say 18 months and we will be sticking to it (as much as I don’t want to) but I’m curious how quickly you got pregnant after your section?

Movements

I’m 28 weeks tomorrow. Yesterday I had loads and loads of movements but today I have only felt small flutters and a couple of kicks throughout the day. I get so confused as some people say they don’t have a pattern but others say they do. We have a Doppler so used it this evening and could hear the heartbeat and then moving but does anyone else get quieter days of movement than others? I am seeing my midwife tomorrow so will check but just find myself getting anxious about it and don’t know when to get checked. I know they encourage it but last time as soon as I got to triage baby started moving loads!

Tips for babies with wind issues

My 5 week old has always had issues bringing up all his wind. When he’s laying on his back, he’s always grunting in pain to the point he cries and wakes himself up.

Spoke with a qualified physio who’s also qualified in baby massage and she said try concentric circles on baby. Small circles with a little pressure on their right (your left when facing you) from the bottom of their tummy up to their ribs and then going to the other side and doing the same. Then do the usual leg exercises with them (bicycle kicks, air squats, rotating them side to side etc)

I’ve also found this really helps doing it on my LBs back. I either use my thumb or two fingers when he’s up against me. I do both sides from bottom to top in small circles. He moves around and makes the grunting noises when I first do it but burps come out and after about 4/5 times he stops moving around or grunting at all and it’s meant he’s actually slept on his back and not had to cosleep!
