Hi ladies,
My little boy doesn't sleep through, he never has and it feels like he never will - I know it's normal but that doesn't help the sheer exhaustion of 2/3/4 wake ups a night for almost 5 months.
Our routine is 6.45 bottle, 7pm cuddle, bed drowsy but awake. He's amazing at going to sleep.
My question is - when your little ones wake in the night do you change their nappy if it's just a wee? I'm currently changing it every wake up but from 3am onwards it can be really hard to get him back to sleep.
Thank you

My LO sleeps through the night. But sometimes when he does wake up earlier than usual, I don't change his nappy. I just nurse or pop the dummy and let him fall asleep again. If he wakes up after 6 am then I change his nappy and feed him.

It completely depends on how wet the nappy is. If it is barely wet, I'll leave it. If it is heavy, I'll change it. I usually change once a night (the middle wake up) unless it doesn't need doing or needs doing before/after that. I also make sure it is as dark as possible when I feed and change him, just enough light so as I can see what I'm doing. I don't talk to him either. X

Would love just 4 wake ups 😬 I only change her if she does a poo or on nights with 8+ wake ups then I change her as she feeds more so naturally wees more!

Try Rascal and Friends nappies from Tesco. Also have a terrible sleeper and changing to these overnight has helped him be less disturbed by a wet nappy. They're pricier than supermarket brands (so we only use them overnight) but much better at holding overnight wees

If I change the nappy during the night my LO wakes up straight away so I just tried two times and never again 😂. I found if I put the dummy instead of nursing helped teach her to stay longer but it took me nearly 2/3 weeks doing it (some days I had to do it from 1 to 1 hour).. Currently she gets 6-8 hours without waking.

I use these for my daughter only for overnight not had a leak yet.

I don’t do any changes in the night she was 1 month old. That tends to wake them and reset their sleep cycles. Nappies are made to hold several hours worth of week.
