I feel as though me and my partner are becoming roommates. He's working 5 days a week, and we rarely see each other during the evenings since he'll look after the little one for a few hours while I rest. And on the weekends, he wants to catch up with his friends, recuperate from the work week which is completely understandable. Maybe I'm articulating it wrong, because he doesn't seem to understand that our relationship will stagnate if we don't make it a priority to do non baby things together sometimes.

Have a chat with him about a weekly or monthly date night, fully focused on each other, paying attention and listening to each other. Dedicated time really helps us refocus on our relationship. It's difficult early on with a baby, they need a lot so try to start off small maybe not even a full date night and instead work around one of baby's daytime naps. Do something you enjoy together (we started with a TV show and we also do board games, one time we went to hobbycraft and bought a paint your own statuette thing each and listened to music and talked while we did it) find what works for you. good luck

We are 4 weeks in to life with a new baby and I've not felt that we have had a big change with our relationship. We've had evenings together watching telly and eating dinner, go to bed at the same time, make time to kiss throughout the day (no sex yet because I'm still recovering) and we have a date planned for next week, the first time leaving the baby. I think just spending time together in the evening and staying in the same bed together has helped the most because it feels normal still. It means less sleep, but I can catch up with naps in the day
