Hi everyone.
My mental health has just started to get a lot more worse than it already was. I have spent all evening crying my eyes out, nobody understands how I feel. People around me don’t seem to understand what I am going through. I’m having a C Section on Friday (this Friday the 8th) as much as I am excited to finally meet my baby boy, I’m just really stressed and scared as to how I will manage all of this on my own. My partner will be working, he’s only got 4 days off work when I have the baby. My mum will be coming to be my birth partner and she’ll stay with me for two weeks. I’m just stressing thinking what’s going to happen after my mum leaves and my partner goes back to work and I’m left alone with the baby? Keep contemplating whether I’ll be a good mum or not, what if I do something wrong? No one really understands what I’m going through instead I’m just getting told that I’m acting silly and me crying is stressful for others. I’m thinking, should I speak to my GP on Monday to put me on antidepressants or will that make me worse?

My partner only has a week off so I understand your worry. I had a section with my first and I know recovery can be tough. But after two weeks you will feel a million times better. Still not perfect, still recovering but at the 2 week point you should be able to get out and about and be in less pain. Can you discuss with your partner about taking some annual leave in a few weeks so you have that to look forward to? The fact your even worrying about all this means your going to be a good mum. No doubt. Its hard and its all the unknown, but when that baby is here your just gonna be able to do it, women have this weird instinctive ability and strength. But if you feel mentally that your struggling make sure your open about it and talk to someone xx
