So I had to have an emergency c section on September 1st and I was breastfeeding fine until they have to put my son in the NICU the next day. So I pumping every two freaking hours. My boob is so engorged and I pump for 15 minutes every two hours. How can I make it stop being so big I pump until it’s completely out but give my boobs about a minute or two and my boobs are really big what’s going on help me please. It really hurt and I am so over it. I know heat helps but today is my first day home without my son.

So at that point I was doing 30 mins every 3 hours (per lactation consultants advice) to make sure I was empty and establish supply. Make sure your flanges are properly sized, use some coconut oil or nipple butter for lubrication, and I don’t recommend using a in-bra/portable pump until your supply is established. Breastfeeding and pumping is so hard (Especially under so much stress!) and I hope everything works out!

my husband gave me a great idea of using my heating pad and wrap it around my boobs then pump. I am empty and relieved now. Ty!

You can also use sunflower lecithin! It helps emulsify the fat in the hind milk and helps with milk flow, plus you can use it to help clear clogged ducts! I started using it and it’s been a game changer!!
