The first time I was pregnant I didn’t read anything and let it all just happen. This time I would like to read more before I embark on the journey again.

The Positive birth book was great :)

The modern midwife

The modern midwife book is brilliant

I just asked my mum friends for tips and this is what’s now my reading list!
⁃ Expecting Better, Emily Oster (and also her parenting one, Cribsheet)
⁃ what to expect when you’re expecting
⁃ parenting the shit out of life, Mother Pukka
⁃ the sensational baby sleep plan, Alison Scott-Wright
⁃ Gina Ford stuff (controversial as she is super strict on routine but I want to read and form my own opinion - apparently some good tips even if her complete approach isn’t for you)
⁃ Food of Love - apparently a nice non scary breastfeeding one
⁃ the birth of a mother, Daniel Stern (but apparently better to read once you’re a few months in and out of the love bubble)
⁃ After Birth, Jessica Hatcher Moore
⁃ Holly McNish, nobody told me (poetry)
⁃ Strong as a Mother, Kate Rope
⁃ Welcome to Motherhood Bitches by Victoria Emes
⁃ How not to hate your husband after kids
⁃ The fourth trimester

So far I’ve only read expecting better which is great - debunks the “rules” pregnant women are told then can & can’t do

thank you so much for taking the time to do this. I’ve ordered loads of these. Thanks lovely xx
