Maternity Allowance

i got a message to say it has been received about 4/5 days ago but that’s about it haven’t heard nothing since xx

they rang me and said mine was put through and to clarify when for it to begin but that was it for me 😅but time is cutting short and me and my partner are moving soon so I don’t really want to be caught short with littlen due so soon xx

yeh i 100% agree with you surely they’d inform you when it would get sent xx

You will get the letter in the post confirming everything within the next few days and then you should receive a small payment before you get the full amount for the month which I had to wait 4 weeks for (unless you’ve chosen to be paid every 2weeks).

I didn’t get anything bar a notification on my uc account saying I was getting paid £0 as I had been paid x amount Mat allowance and had a benefit cap but haven’t heard anything, didn’t put for it to start until October either 🥲

Does it not just come through your work wages?

no maternity allowance is different and paid from the government if I am correct due to not being eligible for smp which is through work, due to me starting a new job when I was already a certain way through

oh that’s odd I was told universal credit don’t deal with MA pay as put a note on for mine and was responded with that they don’t deal with it 🤷‍♀️

they’re very slow! I put a letter in with my matb1 as had to send a new one due to my employer losing original, I asked them to phone me to let me know it had gone through okay which the women was lovely she said it had been processed to start from the 11th but no other information 🥴

I got the text that they received my claim the 11th aug then I got a text and a miss call to confirm what I had been from from after I lost my job on the 29th of Aug then that came up on the uc account on the 2nd of sep so hopefully we get letters soon 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

aw I know it’s awful, it’s even worse nobody else can apparently help deal with it, don’t think I can brave that hour long phone line wait again 🥲
