First of all I love my son and being a mum is great.
But I am struggling with losing my identity and who I was. Being alone all day is really hard and sometimes I resent my partner for being able to go to work and have some time away.
Also it is bugging me that he has been out multiple times so he baby arrives 7 weeks ago and I haven't had any time to myself.
My partner isn't the most understanding at times and I also crave intimacy and being wanted again. But feel like that has gone.
I don't know what I was looking for by positing on here but I needed to vent somewhere.
I love my son so much and I love being a mum but I miss me!

I hear ya, You defo need time for you, even if it’s a hot bath or a trip to get ur nails done, I went for a massage during the first few months as I was so achy and tired but perhaps you could talk to and suggest something like this to your partner? It was a bit daunting for my other half at first but I think it gave him confidence spending time with baby alone for a couple hours x

I can fully relate to this. I will say it’s gotten a little better (my son is 4 months now) over time; also since I have made sure to ask my husband for his help, to try to make time for myself, and also to just lean in and enjoy being this new person a little bit more.
It wasn’t long ago yet I think actually 7 weeks (your LO) was a tough time for me, so I hope you too find it gets easier.
You can’t pour from an empty cup so make sure to tell your partner when you need support. You might be surprised (positively!) at his answers
Big hugs x
