I had a c section 2 weeks ago and have no sense of feeling from my belly button down to my scar. I can just about feel touch but it’s all numb and I have no feeling there. When I itch my tummy I can’t feel that it’s actually being itched?! Is this normal and does the feeling ever come back? If so when? I have sensory issues which cause me to get really irritable and this is really causing issues for me mentally. I just want the feeling back 😢😭😭

From about 5 centimetres above my scar on my over hang I still have no feelings at 13 months postpartum. I asked my doctor about this she said it’s due to nerve damage and it can the rate of recovery is about 1cm per year. You do get used to it and barely notice the numbness unless your touching your scar and that area

This is perfectly normal! When they did the c section they cut through a lot of nerve endings so that's why you feel numb. Once you've healed I'd recommend a scar massage daily which will help increase blood flow to the area and encourage those nerve endings to heal giving you sensation back!
I'm 5 months post op and that numbness is still present but it is a lot less! Also as someone who also has sensory issues I understand your frustrations but you will become accustomed to it
I’m already suffering with pnd and sadly anxiety and depression (went cold Turkey from my meds unwillingly due to having HG) so have all of that to deal with along with a traumatic birth experience so this is just the icing on the cake for me😭 I just want the feeling back it’s really getting to me 😢

Feeling may or may not come back. It really depends on your body.

I’m a little over 5 months post c-section and still numb down there as well. My mom is 47 and told me she’s still numb there from her c-section 18 years ago with my brother. Hoping it will be different for me. I don’t like that numbness.
I just wrote this on another post about the same topic🤗

Normal, you had nerve damage. It comes back in a few months when you’re healed
