Nursery

When does dropping your lo off at nursery get easier? Today is my daughters second day of being there an hour and she’s absolutely sobbed going in which in return has made me sob 😭

It took my little girl about a week of going to settle properly. Now she runs in and doesn’t even look back, she absolutely loves it. X

That’s good to know! I’m hoping it won’t take long 😩 X

My girl walked in to her room with no tears for the first time yesterday and she's been going since January 🤦🏻‍♀️ but she has only done one day a week until this week.
I work in a nursery too and know that after couple weeks when they've settled, the tears (if they continue)are just to make parents feel guilty I swear! They're fine once parents have gone lol x

oh god when I went to go pick her up after the hour they said she has been completely fine and only started crying again when she seen me at the gate so I feel a lot better now but the guilt when leaving her was through the roof 😂 doing 2 hours tomorrow and Friday so hopefully come Monday she will do a half day 🤞🏻 x

Settled in immediately
My daughter loves playing with other kids. Although she started young but have had to switch nurseries 3 times

My little girl settled straight away however she’s been going since 11 months old. From what I see though they are upset at drop off but completely fine minutes after and happily playing if that helps reassure you x

Currently going through the same thing, getting ready to go on a morning we get 'no nursery today' and lots of tears.
She would happily run in and forget about is at her old nursery, so I'm really struggling with this at the moment

oh I bet you are when my daughter came out for the first time yesterday she said she was scared and I had to fight the tears back then hopefully she settles into the new one soon for you it’s horrible seeing them upset ☺️ xx

Mine doesn't go to nursery and my eldest never cared when he went so I don't have experience BUT I did work in a preschool and a school club where we had as young as 3 at the early drop off and I had to unpick them from their parents legs multiple times as they screamed but after 10 mins max they would have settled into an activity and been fine the rest of the day. Sometimes the emotions come back when they see their parents at collection because they're suddenly reminded but that doesn't mean they have had a bad day x
They have to learn that you are always going to come back for them and that could take a week in itself

My little boy has been going to nursery since he was 11 months old, I work at the nursery he goes too and he still cries on drop off 😂 but I do know he's okay once he's in and settled haha he is just a sensitive soul who likes to try and make me feel guilty😂 xx

My boy was a month or so, but he only goes one day a weedk so that didn't help him. He now goes in and doesn't even say bye to me 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Was olivers second day today. Was so hard 😭 actually he was much better at first. Going off without me and exploring then nursery teacher told him not to do something , took him away to do something else and he just had paddy. She suggested I try leave him for ten mins. He was distraught the whole ten mins 😭 he had a paddy and even hit the teacher which they are used to. It was so hard not to start crying myself. He was upset for ages when I returned. We ended up getting him distracted with something. She said we will continue with the little settling in sessions and he will get 1-1 support. He's got a review on Fri and think he will be referred to speech and language. They are lovely people but I feel like I'm doing the wrong thing. He's only 2. He's only going two days so I've got to wait until next Tues before we go back so we will be back to square one :( xx

5 month old activities

Hey everyone my baby is 5 months old and I want to reduce/cut screen time as I have read up on how bad it is what activities did people do to keep their baby entertained. Thank you in advance.

Tablet for kids

Alright don’t need any negative Nancy’s telling me not to get my 2yo a tablet so if that’s what your gunna do please don’t participate in my poll.

We’re about to move cross country 3+ day trip and my 2yo and 9m hate the car I’m talking scream their heads off till they are out of their seats. We’ve already changed car seats and it didn’t help so I’d like to at least have one entertained and sit next to baby and try and distract her or put her to sleep. Our new car has tvs but since they are rear faced my 2yo can’t see it.

Debating getting her a tablet or dvd player right now on long car rides I end up giving her my phone because I get so overwhelmed sitting in between both of them screaming and crying.

And yes I do bring different toys I bring snacks I play songs try to distract her other ways but for the sake of not losing my mind on this move I think this is best.

-A very overwhelmed and anxious to move mama 😓

My friend is over from another country but I don't feel like leaving the house

One of my old friend's is visiting where I currently live and we agreed to meet up today but I feel so tired and exhausted from everything that's been going on with me. I feel if I meet her I'm going to end up having another breakdown from the exhaustion which I have been having often. I'm just thinking about how I need to rest to be able to deal with my toddler and go back to work on Monday without feeling like I need another weekend. I'm torn on what to do so I need you guys to help me decide

Weaning

Hello mamas, could I get some advice please with how and what to wean as started this week with my baby but not really what to give and when what time day. Have started with puree vegetables and making them myself and offering it in the evening to my baby but she tends to get irritated and tired and has a few spoonfulls and then gives up and has a meltdown. So I’m questioning myself am I feeding her wrong time of day and what’s best to mix the food with milk or baby rice please.

Struggling

My husband works and does so much for me and my baby girl. However I get annoyed every time he hops on a video game he usually plays for 1-2 hrs if she's still awake and has like 3+hrs of free time once she goes to sleep (i co/contact sleep). The last time I was able to have actual free time was last month when I tried to turn some onesies into shirts for baby girl to sleep in- and I wasn't able to finish them and haven't picked them up since lol. The only free time I get is while she's napping right next to me where I can't move an inch or breathe too deeply or she'll wake up, or when I shower. Crafting used to be my outlet and now if I were ever to tell him that I need to craft I don't even know what I would do or where to start I just sit there and stare.... just losing myself and I'm struggling with it. Does anyone else feel the same way? What do I do?
