Hello mamas,could I get some advice please with how and what to wean as started this week with my baby but not really what to give and when what time day. Have started with puree vegetables and making them myself and offering it in the evening to my baby but she tends to get irritated and tired and has a few spoonfulls and then gives up and has a meltdown. So I’m questioning myself am I feeding her wrong time of day and what’s best to mix the food with milk or baby rice please.

Do it in the morning or lunch, we find morning the best time personally. Last wake window of the day is generally the hardest due to he so tired x

Main tip is don’t when she’s to hungry or too tired.
But also it’s a big new thing! It takes them a while to pick it up. I gave my daughter a piece of tender stem broccoli last night and she LOVED it, chewing away, turning it around, trying the other end. She ingested precisely 0% of it, it was like I’d given her a teether. They’ve got to learn

I read to start only give max two teaspoons, after they’ve had a bottle I usually wait an hour after milk. Mine like purées but don’t eat the actual bits of food yet just squish it in their hands

With my little one it worked to do something in the morning and evening - I started with offering her baby rice mixed with her milk about 2 hours after her morning bottle which worked a treat for her as it’s a familiar taste! And then I did her second meal during her second to last wake window and offered her a puréed version of the chosen vegetable mixed with her milk to start to get her used to the flavors and then also offered her the whole vegetable to hold and chew on! Has worked really well for her so far and she’s already very used to the routine :)
