My baby is 5 weeks old and twice now has stopped breathing while crying. Once while I was in the shower and the second time while driving. I don’t understand what’s happening. Today she was asleep in the car and woke up and was crying when she got silent my husband jumped in the backseat and I had to pull over because she wouldn’t catch her breath. It’s like she’s giving herself panic attacks. Has anyone else experienced this? What do I do to prevent it or help her.

I would bring it up with your pediatrician. But babies do this sometimes. Breath hard in their face and they will usually start breathing again. My mom said I used to do it as a baby all the time and she'd have to blow in my face to get me to cry again and not be holding my breath

Yes my son did it until he was 2 years old he even passed out so scary! Apparently it’s normal and a lot of babies/toddlers do this but tell your doctor about it to see if it could be something else. Look up breath holding spells and bring up to your doctor

I would just try to keep him from crying and getting to that point but sometimes I couldn’t
