RMC, pregnancy and progesterone. Postive stories please!

Currently pregnant for a 4th time. Three previous losses all before 10 weeks. No children. Had a scan on Monday and saw our first every heartbeat at 6 week 5 days. I have been on progesterone pessaries (Cyclogest) from day 1 positive - 400mg twice a day. They give me terrible stomach cramps, especially the PM dosage before bed which gets me up a few hours later every night. No blood to date.

Please please share some positive progesterone outcomes to get me through the next 8 days until next NHS scan! Pregnancy after loss is anxiety riddled. Pregnancy after three losses is beyond HARD.

I felt exactly the same when I took those pessaries. I promise you that if you stick at it just be as if it was a period pain be positive because I took it out the payment. The batteries were doing something because then our pregnancy stuck
I am now 5 1/2 months pregnant

I had 2 early miscarriages and when I fell pregnant for the 3rd time went on progesterone pessaries from 6 - 16 weeks. I started to get used to it after a while and it wasn’t so bad. I’m now 37+5 weeks pregnant and had a very normal and healthy pregnancy so far.

The anxiety is really hard the first few months, but hang in there and try and keep positive! 💞

I had 3 losses (2x miscarriages and 1x ectopic), then on our fourth pregnancy they started me on progesterone from 8weeks to 23/24weeks, I did have heavy bleeding from 17-19 weeks which really scared us thinking I was miscarrying again (due to the bleeding I was able to stay on the progesterone for longer than we were supposed to). I went into labour early at 34+3, but she is healthy and thriving!

I had anxiety throughout the whole pregnancy, it doesn’t get any easier but I really feel like the progesterone helped!! You will get there mama, keeping everything crossed for you💕 xx

Hey Hollie, I have the same story. 3 losses all before 8 weeks. Now pregnant for the 4th time and on progesterone (same dose as you). Today I am 12 weeks, 3 scans so far and baby is doing perfect!!

I had soooo many side effects at first which I was unsure if it was progesterone or early pregnancy (or both). But I feel like it just got easier and easier (maybe my body getting used to it). At first I wondered if I could stick it out, but here I am still on it and not even noticing so much. Right now I am so grateful for them putting me on progesterone as I never even thought I would make it to 12 weeks in my wildest dreams, don’t like to speak to soon but so far so good for me!

The anxiety is a lot, especially in that period where your “used to” miscarrying. But it can go the other way and hopefully you will get to see that this time ❤️

Wishing you the best of luck xxx

I had 3 losses, then my next pregnancy was put on the pessaries at 7 weeks - I now have a healthy 9 month old! And yes pregnancy was perfect but the anxiety completly ruined it 😥 every niggle, every pain i panicked - I ended up being induced 3 weeks early due to my anxiety! Try stay positive I know it's hard, but if your ever worried about anything speak to your maternity assessment or GP xxx

Wow some really positive and encouraging stories. Thank you ladies, I genuinely appreciate you taking the time to reply ❤️

thank you so much. Agree with everything you said. Do you know how much longer you’re on it? I’ve read 12-16 weeks is the norm as the placenta takes over xx

Avatar

so I was told originally I would come off it at 12 weeks (for that reason) but I started running out of it at about 10 weeks and they gave me enough for another 6 weeks. I asked if I could continue for peace of mind and they said you probably won’t need to but no harm staying on it for now if that’s what you want to do. But I am thinking after today I may just go to one pessary a day for a few weeks and then eventually every other day and just sort of ween off it. I had some cramping this week in one side and went the hospital, everything was ok with the baby but the lady basically said your progesterone levels will be higher now your placenta has taken over and then your keeping it even higher with the pessaries and so your digestive system is massively slowing down (hence the pain) xxx

wow I am so so sorry for all your losses! Thanks for sharing. I constantly feel awful but I know the outcome is worth it. Lots of luck with healthy baby girl x

C section or natural?

I am a control freak and thinking c section is the least stressful route for me and baby… less complications during labour etc. whilst acknowledging recovering can be hard.
If it could be guaranteed no tearing or complications then I would opt for natural and kind of want to experience the feeling.
Then again could plan and go either way 😂 arghh!
Anyone else in this predicament?

Period like cramps

Hi
I’m currently 33 weeks pregnant and I keep getting period like cramps I thought these were Brixton hicks but I’ve heard they only last 30 seconds ish as this can go on for a good time frame then go away and come back, they aren’t bad enough where I can’t do basic things they just feel like I’m about to get my period I’m jus wondering how normal this is? Baby is still very actively kicking xx

Homebirth?

I am thinking I want a homebirth (second baby) for a few different reasons but my husband is very against it, he is worried about things going wrong and we are a 30 minute drive from the hospital. Has anyone been in a similar position and what did you end up doing? Any advice? 🙏

Midwife check

Can someone remind me when the midwife visits you at home? Is it the day after you’re discharged? And is that the same on the weekend or do they not visit then? Thanks!
