How many words are everyone’s kids saying at this stage? My son is almost 15 months and not really saying anything. He says “oh no” a lot but I don’t know if that’s like an accident or whether he understands what it means 😂. He’s not saying mama or dada either yet. He just rambles all day long but never says any real words.

I'm so glad it isn't just me 🤦♀️ my son is 14 months old and dosent say anything anymore he used to day da da all the time and said mama once and has stopped since :( feel like I'm doing something wrong xx

My son chats away to himself and us constantly, with not alot of it being understandable. I've done baby sign with him since 3 months old, and so he can now wave, point and sign; help, shoe, monkey, dog, dolphin, drink, crocodile, fish, bird, nappy, bath, shower. He can understand quite a few more which helps but he choses not to sign them. In terms of words he'll say ta (thank you) mummama, daddadadaa and nananana. He can also say duck, cat, no and up, but it's on his terms and if he's learning anything else he sometimes forgets other things until he's mastered that one.
But he's only really started all of that in August, it just came out of nowhere.
If I remember correctly guidance for them at this age isn't many words. Plus if they are getting what they're after the need for communication isn't as great as your meeting those needs 🥰 x

Mine doesn't say any legible words. She has certain noises that I understand but they're not words. She seems to understand though and follows instructions. Pretty sure she's just waiting to be able to say a full sentence 😂

No words but understands heaps, points for what she wants/to answer something we’ve asked etc, shakes head for no, but not even mum/dad/up here either.

My baby girl is 15 months and says quite a few words, such as 'shoes', 'drink' 'eat' etc. However my oldest, who is talking very competently now (almost 3), didn't really say words till he was almost 2 and even then they were said in his own way, such as 'guck' for duck and 'gackle' for 'apple'. They are all so different! Plus speech is such a complex thing, I would definitely say understanding is key and their speech will come when they are ready 😊

My 15 month old hasn’t said any words yet :)

My 14 months babbles throughout the day but also says few words. Her fav are papa and hii. She says mamma ,uh oh and now she repeats few words we say like Apple, aeroplane, bird, tractor 🤣 I was shocked when she was able to repeat tractor.
