Hi all, have you started considering life insurance for the family and the baby? Any recommendations of agents or companies? I got a quote from “mummy insurance” just now but want to look at more. Thank you!

No advice from me, but I would love to hear what others have to say. We have life/cricital illness insurance but paying through the nose, so following for recommendations 😊

We’ve always had life insurance/income protection since we took out a mortgage 5 years ago and it automatically covers children. Ours is with Zurich and was arranged through an independent financial advisor.

Funnily enough, I've just had a quote today from Polly.
I looked into it a few months ago after seeing an ad on FB but got pissed off as they hounded me with calls.
But with me drawing closer to giving birth, figured I'd hear them out and the guy this time round was super friendly.
Obviously each quote is individual, but mine is basically £270k worth of cover...to cover mortgage, child up to 21, lump sum payment and funeral costs.
For 36yr period (so until I'm 70) it's £24pcm.
For 30 year period, its £19.08pcm
I was originally quoted about £28pcm from them so gonna have a shop around and see.

your quotes make better sense than mine! Mine is like £55 per month for £200k cover .. definitely will look at more quotes and consider

£55? 🙈
I mean, it's obviously depending on lots of different things and health history etc.
But have a look on Polly - the agent said to me that there's lots of different companies who won't take on pregnant women until after birth but Polly do...

I get it through work and have some protection with the mortgage insurance x

I went with polly and got both life insurance for me and baby and income protection as I'm self employed and both policies came up to 24 a month but I wanted to keep the monthly payment low whilst on maternity leave.
