I feel so stupid for even asking this because I know babies come when they want to come, but I need some advice. My first child was born at 37+4, so I’ve been thinking I would maybe deliver by 38 or 39 weeks at the latest this time. I just found out that my doctor will be on vacation that whole week that I am 38-39 weeks. The other doctors in my practice have much higher c-section rates, so I really don’t want to deliver with them and also my doctor’s husband is the lead neonatologist in the NICU, so obviously he will be out of town with her as well. I really want to not have my baby until she gets back! Is there anything I can do or not do to keep myself from progressing too soon??

Maybe you’ll go into labor around the same time as last time? I think the only thing that can delay it at that point is bed rest?
