That's amazing Laura I wish you all the best šš„°

Proud of you Laura. Wishing you all the luck, not that you need it š„° xx

I actually thought about this the other day as there are no childminders within 5miles of us, and primary school is right next door. Can I ask what you need to be a childminder? (My mum used to be one but that was years ago)

our village relies on childminders and I work at the preschool part time Iāve been inundated with request! For 6 hours work on one day Iām earning almost Ā£90 (once I start obviously- Iāve started taking bookings and having settle sessions) so for us itās definitely worth it!
So you need: a DBS check for you and supporting ones for anyone over aged 16 that lives in your house
Paediatric first aid
Safeguarding
A health declaration from your GP
And some sort of childcare qualification/experience but thatās not essential as far as I can figure out
Thatās the basics some go on and do more qualifications etc to appeal to a wider audience!
Itās been a bit of a faff getting it all sorted i started the process in March⦠a lot of it had been waiting for DBS checks to come through and waiting on the GP and my references to send the paperwork back

Well done laura, Iāve thought of giving up teaching for this. Combining your own childcare with your work- what a bonus!

Absolutely smashed it! The ofsted inspector said if her children were still young Iām exactly the sort of childminder sheād want looking after her child! And Maximus was the most angelic little man today āI have bic bic, pleaseā ātabk oo mummaā then would pop in to give me kisses and tell me he āluff ooā she said your clearly a lovely mum too cos your little one is so incredibly polite (especially as she knew about his speech delay)

awww brilliant news. So please for you. And yep she's right, you're doing amazing xx
