Delivery at 39 weeks and nervous

I was recently diagnosed with GD around 33 weeks due to baby’s size my OB wanted me checking my levels at home. They have been all over the place. So I’m not on medication right now however she mentioned she may put me on a low dose.
I’m looking for some insight as far as induction. The last time I saw my OB she mentioned about pulling baby out at 38 weeks, which would be at the end of this month because of the sugar levels.
However the nurse was finally able to schedule the c section today and because the hospital schedule is so full, they had to schedule it at 39 weeks.
I’m obviously very worried about keeping him in longer then what she recommended and I’ve heard about the placenta can stop working.

Has anyone given birth at 39 weeks with GD? Please calm my nerves!

I was induced at 38+3 and had my waters broken and baby delivered right on 39 weeks. Absolutely no problem. Placenta can stop working but from what I've read it was quite rare. Regardless of where you're based, recommend checking out gestational diabetes UK, lots of birth stories and information on there

I was induced at 39 weeks on a low level of insulin at the time and everything went great.

Day out after c section

Hey,
I had an emergency c section 1 week ago I obviously don't want a day out right now but I have things booked for the Easter holidays so in 2 weeks. I was just wondering if I will be overdoing it if I have a day out then or will I be ok? I would still take it as easy as I could. When did everyone feel good enough to go out?

Period like cramps

Hi
I’m currently 33 weeks pregnant and I keep getting period like cramps I thought these were Brixton hicks but I’ve heard they only last 30 seconds ish as this can go on for a good time frame then go away and come back, they aren’t bad enough where I can’t do basic things they just feel like I’m about to get my period I’m jus wondering how normal this is? Baby is still very actively kicking xx

C section or natural?

I am a control freak and thinking c section is the least stressful route for me and baby… less complications during labour etc. whilst acknowledging recovering can be hard.
If it could be guaranteed no tearing or complications then I would opt for natural and kind of want to experience the feeling.
Then again could plan and go either way 😂 arghh!
Anyone else in this predicament?

Midwife check

Can someone remind me when the midwife visits you at home? Is it the day after you’re discharged? And is that the same on the weekend or do they not visit then? Thanks!

Owlet

Anyone else’s owlet pi##ing them off ?!?! It goes off 5/6 a night saying it can’t get a reading and needs a snug fit. My baby is 8 months old so moves a lot. It is driving me insane and I keep end up taking it off!!
