My baby is 6 months and seems to be, slightly, the youngest in most of our classes and activities. Most classes I try and keep her in ones that have very defined age groups, but is not always possible. Especially in places like breastfeeding groups, bookbug etc where mums might bring their baby and toddler along too.
I’m just wondering, if there’s ever an older child/more mobile baby coming near your baby, and the situation looks like it might result in injury to your child (example: they are swinging a heavy toy near their face, they are starting to crawl but occasionally topple over and they’ve planked themselves beside your baby, they are starting to touch your baby and you know they grab/scratch/bite) and the child’s parent is hasn’t noticed, or has noticed but isn’t going to intervene, what do you do in these situations?
My instinct tells me to move her away, but I’m always so worried about offending another parent or looking like I’m overly protective!

I move mine away, I don’t care if they get offended, they should control their own children tbh. Sometimes I don’t move her but I kinda shield her just to protect her

I move my child away and say something like, “Oops, gentle! :)” Which usually makes the other parent look
