5 week cramps

Has anyone had really bad cramping at night time? No bleeding (touch wood) but horrendous period like pains that go right through to my back, only 5 weeks pregnant and seem to fine during the day. Can I take paracetamol?

I have the same and have been told to take paracetamol :) I’m also getting a scan (NHS) tomorrow just to make sure everything is fine, although they say it is probably perfectly normal.

thank you, I’ve booked a private scan in 2 weeks, I’ve not heard anything from my GP/midwife service, I’ve put my self referral in, do I wait for them to contact me?

it’s the early pregnancy assessment unit (midwife gave me the number but you can also Google it) and they have been great, they are there for any concerns in first trimester such as pain or bleeding :)

thank you, I’ll have a look into this 🙂 x

I’m nearly 6 weeks and have had some cramping and backache. No bleeding though. 2nd pregnancy and don’t remember any of this the first time! My boobs don’t hurt at all this time, I guess because the pipe work is all in there from before… 12 weeks feels a really long way away. Might try and pay for an early scan to put my mind at ease

sorry to hear you’re having cramps as well, they aren’t nice at all! I’ve booked in a scan at 7 weeks (private) just to make sure everything is okay, but yes definitely hard not to worry! I’ve started with some minor headaches a bit yesterday and today as well xx

my boobs don’t hurt much either, this is my first pregnancy so I just don’t know what’s right and wrong at the point. Yes I would, I’ve booked a dating scan privately at 7 weeks which will hopefully just give me piece of mind x

I’m 5+3 and have been getting the worst cramps at night too! This is also my first so no idea what to expect. I went to Whittington NHS early pregnancy unit a couple of days ago and they did a scan and said everything is normal and to take paracetamol if needed - mine come on so suddenly though and are gone within 15mins so not much point in paracetamol! I’ve found having ice packs by my bed helpful and I just put one wherever feels good to ease pain. Maybe also try a walk in to put your mind at rest?

I did one at 8 weeks with my first pregnancy! Definitely worth the money too x

Period like cramps

Hi
I’m currently 33 weeks pregnant and I keep getting period like cramps I thought these were Brixton hicks but I’ve heard they only last 30 seconds ish as this can go on for a good time frame then go away and come back, they aren’t bad enough where I can’t do basic things they just feel like I’m about to get my period I’m jus wondering how normal this is? Baby is still very actively kicking xx

Day out after c section

Hey,
I had an emergency c section 1 week ago I obviously don't want a day out right now but I have things booked for the Easter holidays so in 2 weeks. I was just wondering if I will be overdoing it if I have a day out then or will I be ok? I would still take it as easy as I could. When did everyone feel good enough to go out?

C section or natural?

I am a control freak and thinking c section is the least stressful route for me and baby… less complications during labour etc. whilst acknowledging recovering can be hard.
If it could be guaranteed no tearing or complications then I would opt for natural and kind of want to experience the feeling.
Then again could plan and go either way 😂 arghh!
Anyone else in this predicament?

Midwife check

Can someone remind me when the midwife visits you at home? Is it the day after you’re discharged? And is that the same on the weekend or do they not visit then? Thanks!

Owlet

Anyone else’s owlet pi##ing them off ?!?! It goes off 5/6 a night saying it can’t get a reading and needs a snug fit. My baby is 8 months old so moves a lot. It is driving me insane and I keep end up taking it off!!
