Queens hospital

Any mamas have gave birth or are due to give birth at queens hospital Romford, let me know your thoughts

I heard not so good things about the hospital and it’s giving me anxiety to even think about giving birth there, so I’m considering to change the hospital maybe 🥴🥴🥴

Let me know your thoughts!!! X

I am also going to Queen’s! The options aren’t great near us. I’ve heard people have had bad experience at Whipps Cross as well but so far, I’ve heard good things about Queen’s. What have you heard?

I didn't like Queens but my sis in law gave birth there and she was happy, she had a planned cesarean.

I was happy with Whipps Cross.

Heard good things about homerton though, don't know much about it myslef

I gave birth in queens last year September and didn’t have the best experience 😢 my midwife was great but she had to go on lunch while i was 10cm dilated and had to wait 2 hours until i was allowed to push which led to an infection and then both me and baby had to stay for a further 5 nights on the ward on an antibiotic drip as we had to both be treated for sepsis 😩 don’t want to scare anyone this is just my honest experience. But 2 of my friends have given birth there and both had great experiences so i think it just does depend! Good luck with everything xxx

I had a planned c section during covid time and i had a great experience.

I gave birth at Queens hospital in 2021, and despite with covid around, I had a fantastic birthing experience from prenatal to post natal ward. The midwives were so helpful and even bought a blanket for my sleeping husband who was resting whilst I laboured into the early hours before giving birth. Just the small gestures when they didn’t need to was sweet.

I was induced here in April 2023, being induced was not a great experience for me. After being given the sweep and rods, I was given the hormone drip. As it wasn’t working they topped it up so I was getting contractions but not dilating. In the end I had a c section as baby was getting stressed. Couldn’t complain about the c section itself as they where brilliant. The stay after was horrible as I was in a room with no windows :( overall not as bad as I thought x

Day out after c section

Hey,
I had an emergency c section 1 week ago I obviously don't want a day out right now but I have things booked for the Easter holidays so in 2 weeks. I was just wondering if I will be overdoing it if I have a day out then or will I be ok? I would still take it as easy as I could. When did everyone feel good enough to go out?

Period like cramps

Hi
I’m currently 33 weeks pregnant and I keep getting period like cramps I thought these were Brixton hicks but I’ve heard they only last 30 seconds ish as this can go on for a good time frame then go away and come back, they aren’t bad enough where I can’t do basic things they just feel like I’m about to get my period I’m jus wondering how normal this is? Baby is still very actively kicking xx

C section or natural?

I am a control freak and thinking c section is the least stressful route for me and baby… less complications during labour etc. whilst acknowledging recovering can be hard.
If it could be guaranteed no tearing or complications then I would opt for natural and kind of want to experience the feeling.
Then again could plan and go either way 😂 arghh!
Anyone else in this predicament?

Invited to a chuckie cheese party but I don't have money and don't want to tell my daughter that's why we can't go. Does anyone know how their parties work?

I'm not sure how chuckie cheese parties are. If they give you money to play or not if you're in the party. And then I'm wondering if it's an actual birthday party or if they're just going to chuckie cheese. Some guy in my building told me a couple weeks ago that his son's birthday is today and he's thinking of doing chuckie cheese. They sent an invite but I feel so insecure not being able to afford anything. Like if they don't have food for example. Idk what to do.

Midwife check

Can someone remind me when the midwife visits you at home? Is it the day after you’re discharged? And is that the same on the weekend or do they not visit then? Thanks!

Owlet

Anyone else’s owlet driving them mad?? It goes off 5/6 times night saying it can’t get a reading and needs a snug fit. My baby is 8 months old so moves a lot. It is driving me insane and I keep end up taking it off! Anyone had similar issues?
