Just a quick question, if you pump to induce and DONT save the colostrum, will your body make more by time baby arrives? Or will milk come in and you just loose the colostrum if not collected?

Hard to tell, harvesting colostrum for what I have researched is mostly for those who had low supply or medical issues, but I guess baby will get what they need once they start nursing, that’s my main fear for collecting/pumping. If I do I’ll save it and take it with me to hospital, I have the Hakka collecting kit that serves as feeder as well.

@Juliet right! That's my fear! I wanted to Try to induce by pumping but not sure I have the patience to collect and take it so just wanted to know if he will still get colostrum or if he'll miss it and only get milk!

Colostrum is made until your milk comes in, usually 2-5 days after birth. It’s the detachment of your placenta that finally lets your body know to change to milk

Your Body will make more no worries 😌

Thanks ladies!!!
