I am due to be induced at 39 weeks at Good Hope - what are people's experiences being induced there? Ive read other hospitals leaving women waiting for hours so looking for the good and the bad stories!

Mine was really quick, but some women who I shared a room with had been in there a week!

I got induced at 41 weeks and they didn’t check me for 12 hours and I was already 8cm so was in labour for that long without even realising 😭😭 just had 2 paracetamol so pretty traumatic for me

I had an induction at good hope and was in hospital from 28th Dec 22 - 5th Jan 22. I had all three induction pessaries (over the course of three days) none of which worked. I then tried the 6hr one again on the 2nd Jan and my waters were broken. However later in the evening about 7/7:30pm my daughters heart rate dropped and I had to go in for an emergency c section. My c section was a terrifying experience for me and I had to be sedated for it. The staff on the ward were absolutely lovely and patient with me & honestly I don’t think I could’ve got through with some of their kind words and care that they gave me. I really hope it goes well for you lovely 🩷

I was induced at Good Hope with my first born.
I went in on the Monday to be induced and had her on the Friday. Had pessaries/drip the works, but she was stubborn, so ended up having to have emergency section as I only got to 2cm dilated by Friday 😅
They were vigilant, and staff were lovely! I didn't get the birth I'd hoped for, but I was more than happy with the experience and staff!
Good luck sweet xxx

I had an induction last august at GHH. I got sent home twice as no beds. 3rd time I refused to go home until I’d had my baby I was 11 days over at this point, started the induction at 2pm I had my daughter the following morning. The night staff didn’t check if I was dilating even tho I was in agony. Finally did at around 6:45/7am an I was 9cm. I was given codeine done nothing so was then given gas and air. I was glad when the day shift midwives came on shift..
the midwifes that helped deliver my baby was amazing.. my baby got stuck at one point and I had drs and consultants and an old school midwife all around me.. but with there support and words of encouragement I done it.. so I really can’t knock them on that part at all..
Good luck and hope it all goes well

I had mine in June, was In over 10 days left 4 days waiting for my waters to be broken. I overstimulated with everything. All I will say if stick to your guns and moan if you need to the midwife’s are overworked and they’re isn’t enough to deal with demand. Honestly ones that delivered where great but during induction I was just left for days with no support and then I had emergency c section and was discharged less then 24 hours after.
But everyone experience is different just make sure as I said know what your want and don’t accept been the last one on the list because if you do then will just leave you. But they did get my beautiful little boy here safely and I’m grateful for that
Good luck xx
