I know when people potty train they keep them in for a first few days / week but with my son it’s all of a sudden happened and I feel like he is ready.
Due to work and generally being so busy was wondering how people handle being in the first days and going out, do you put a nappy on in case of accidents when you leave the house or just take a spare pair of clothes so they don’t get confused?
I would just feel bad if my son did have an accident wouldn’t want him to feel sad or embarrassed so just want what’s best for him but also don’t know what the right thing is to do.

Following,we are still to start

Put pants/knickers underneath the nappy so they still feel the wetness but won't leak everywhere

We also did the day time potty training pull up pants for a day out yesterday we were up and out the house for 730am and didn't get home until gone 6pm and we didn't have one wet nappy all day long and was dry all night also he went to the potty and big boy toilet each and every time also whenever you go out take a portable potty with you doesn't matter where you are place them on it and every 10-15minutes offer them a drink

No nappy or knickers/pants just leggings and plenty of spare leggings and socks as it can trickle down to the socks easily. The oh crap training method suggests to not use underwear for a few weeks. I still use a nappy for sleeping or longer car journeys. Take a potable potty. You can get car seat protectors. I use the Koo-di as it was one of the only ones recommended by the Car Seat Safety UK Facebook group admins.
