Yes I eat sushi when I’m pregnant. Judge away. The only people who advise against this are Americans. Asian women eat sushi throughout their pregnancy and it’s even recommended as an essential for prenatal health. I don’t buy store bought sushi unless it’s made in front of me at Wegmans. Idc idc. The picture explains why Idc. Of course I don’t eat it everyday. Comment for link

I eat sushi too from reputable sources. I wouldn't eat gas station or mall sushi but as long as it's reputable it's completely fine!

It’s only because if it’s prepared wrong, in one slight way, more so if you are in a landlocked state and you don’t live by the ocean there is a high risk of it being contaminated with food borne illnesses. Even if it’s reputable just one thing done wrong handling anything raw you can have a serious infection. Like even if someone doesn’t wash their hands properly then puts on gloves you are at risk for contamination. Same thing with deli meat that’s why it’s supposed to be heated up
yep same
like the article says chicken can do the same. But also I live on the east coast

Literally anything can do the same. I’m saying that’s why they suggest against eating raw fish, raw fish also can already have parasites in it as soon as they are caught so can chicken beef and a plethora of other things but it’s a lot easier to mishandle fish.

i eat only cooked sushi nothing raw

You can get sick with lettuce, cut fruit, not fully cooked chicken or other meats, especially eating out. It's all a gamble, I think it's what you feel comfortable with. I feel less comfortable eating precut fruit than reputable sushi.

I ate sushi all the time when I was pregnant with my first. Never got sick and he’s a healthy flourishing nearly 8 month old. I still eat sushi now that I’m pregnant with my second lol. Granted the sushi I get is the frozen ones from Walmart or Aldi, but still. I eat deli meat toooo and we’ve been fine. 🤷🏻♀️
