Can’t stay anywhere

My son’s sleep is terrible. It has been for months. His quality of sleep must be appalling. He wakes multiples times a night screaming and can’t be settled. We’ve tried adjusting his naps, calming bed routine, earlier and later bedtimes but no change. We tried staying at his grandparents tonight and had to drive home at 3am as he was screaming. I don’t know what to do anymore? Why is it like this? Other kids sleep through? Feel like I’m being punished. He’s not teething at the moment either. It’s putting a massive test of our relationship too (us, mum and dad) We had plans to go away at the end of this month and him stay with them but we’ll probably have to cancel it.

What do your days look like?

Food/milk/sleep/activities ?

Avatar

milk when he wakes up,
First nap 11-1 (he starts nursery at 1 so can’t get around this)
Milk before bed around 19:00, asleep around 19:30-8
In day he goes to play groups, nursery, very sociable.
He wakes between 6-7 usually but wakes a lot

Sounds like my day, but my son naps from 12-2.

How much does he eat throughout the day? He might be hungry.

he eats a lot 😂😂😂 prob as much as a 3 year old

Very strange! Sorry, I'm not much help then. Did you try reducing his nap to 1.5, then 1 hour over the course of a few days. It sounds as though he hasn't got enough sleep pressure to get through the night.

I would reduce him to an hour for a good few days. I think they reset after 3 or 7 days, I can't remember what a sleep therapist said to me 🤔

A week.

It could be teething? We have rough nights when it's especially bad!

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

Self settling

Any tips or advice of how to teach 6.5month old to self settle? I’m up multiple times in the night to cuddle her back to sleep and put the dummy in. I understand she will wake up and want a cuddle etc but any tips on self settling would be appreciated 🥰

Baby losing weight

Hi all, it's been a long time since I had a baby (my son is 15!). My daughter is 10 days old and was 9lb born, she has since lost weight at every appointment and is at a 12% loss. I am breast feeding every two hours for over an hour and topping her up every feed. I pump and can get 60ml in 10 minutes so I know my supply is okay. Anyone had this before? Can give me some tips? I currently feel like I'm letting my baby down.

Hi ya'll

Is anyone else's 4 month old randomly screeching now? I'm not sure what to do and she's been doing this for the past two days. She's usually a quiet happy baby so im not sure why she's doing this now. Aby suggestions?
