Help! After months of trying to resolve colic, I found out baby is intolerant to many things so I am changing my diet drastically (EBF) and I can say he doesn't have colic crisis per se anymore and he farts and poo fairly easily and naturally in the day BUT aaaaall night long he struggles to fart, he strains, he moves so much, he winges, he kicks me and even though I change his position regularly, do the bicycle trick, massage etc.. it carries on all the way until morning where he magically releases a concerto of farts and feels better.
So my question IS:
Is every normal healthy babies sleep peacefully, not moving much and not straining at night? Or are they behaving like my little gargoyle 😅

Mine is very similar with the night time farts! Gripe water helps a little

Is he sleeping through it, or awake and upset? How old is he?

do you give gripe water at the start of the night and it's enough to help out for the whole night ?

no no no, he feeds every 2h ish.
He has his eyes closed but very agitated. Sometimes wakes up and behave very agitated as well. Definitely not a good quality sleep when he's like this, so for half of the night.
He is 13weeks :)

Usually give half a dose at the start of the night and then the other half if he starts getting uncomfortable

right so 7.5ml.
I hate giving him this in a syringe but doesn't take bottles so yeah I'll try that. Thanks a lot !

if his eyes are closed it’s possibly just active sleep. Newborns often sleep weirdly haha

ahah yeah but that's definitely a fart thing because as soon as he manages to fart a bit he stops kicking about with his arms and legs.
Anyways... Just need more patience I guess ! ^^

My girl does this, i think it’s them learning to use her bowels. She was worse before we swapped to formula as my breast milk was causing lactose overload ðŸ˜

I have this between 3 and 6am - can’t work out what’s giving him a bad tummy. does yours get uncomfortable after feeding too?

apparently it’s common when you google it! but no one really has any definitive answers on how to stop it ðŸ˜

yeah definitely worse between 3-6am! I think it's the accumulated gas during the night even though we burp them And I make sure to change his position regularly to move the gas. No magic secret solutions then I guess 😅

mine too! Since I stopped dairies the lactose intolerance is better. But he is also intolerant to yeast, soy, almond, eggs, and many fruits and vegs lol so that's not easy ^^

Yes I’m wondering if it’s an allergy or intolerance but I tried to keep a food diary and couldn’t see any pattern

Glad someone else is in the same boat though I’ve been going mad/down so many google holes

yep... Tonight has just been hell even though I gave him gripe water. Relieved him for a little while but not long.
Really hope they'll grow out of it quick! Good luck ! If you find a magic solution please share ahah

Will do- you too!
