How do I get my HCG levels tested? Do I just call up my gp? I have an appointment Wednesday anyway about something else. Wondering if I call Monday would they be able to do it.
In my first pregnancy I didn’t even know it was a thing to get blood tests to check this? A part from your booking appointment? Which i haven’t heard from midwife yet. I’m only 4+5. Like do I need them tested? Seems like another thing to worry about, it’s all I’m seeing on here is women being paranoid about it, making me more anxious 😕

You usually have a blood test with your first midwife appointment however it depends on where you live. In my area we have the blood test separate which is booked when you call the community midwives to register the pregnancy (around 8 weeks for my bloods) then the midwife will contact me for an appointment with her x

There's no need to have it tested. HCG is the same hormone that's measured with a pregnancy test. If there's HCG present then you're pregnant. The only time you need to have the specific level measured is after you've had a miscarriage, to ensure that the levels are dropping (if they don't, then it's an indication something has been retained).
The blood test you have at your first appointment is screening for HIV and Hepatitis.
thank you Emma this has answered all my worries! All I’ve seen is expectant mums talking about it on here, really got me worrying about mine!
