Baby thrush affecting bottle feeds

Have you had treatment too if your breastfeeding?

@Charlotte yes I've had treatment too but the thrush isn't clearing away for baby

Have you had a swab to check it’s definitely thrush?

Definitely get a swab. My LO was on nystan for weeks and when we finally got a swab it was negative. We wasted all that time missing the real issue (mouth positioning/reflux) x

@Shola I went to the gp and they just looked at her tongue and said its thrush then gave nyastin for a week. When I called to say that it hasn't gone they have just gave nyastin again for another week without a swab or seeing her.

@Alice I would have thought they would have done the swab without me asking as I had no idea that you could do that. How did you clear whatever was on the babies tongue if it wasn't thrush?

Is your LO’s tongue completely white. White patches in the roof of mouth and side?

It's only the tongue

I wish I could show you my sons tongue when he was little cas he had black spots under the white. Had no clue what it was & neither did the doctors, turn out it was lint. I used a tongue scraper and took it off. His tongue was clear after that. Have a look at lint on baby tongue, a couple mums have posted about it on different forums. I had a c section and my mum swears blind it was caused by the suction thing they used to put in my sons mouth to clear the fluid. If you baby dosnt have white spots on the roof or cheeks of their mouth & the nystatin isn’t working I would definitely consider getting a tongue scraper cas it’s probably not thrush xx
