Hello! I had an emergency section on Thursday. I got home yesterday and found sleeping so so tough, couldn’t get any comfort.
Any tips on how to get sleeping comfortably besides sitting upright on a chair?

Honestly, for the first week or so I slept upright. Eventually I was able to get comfy laying on my left side with the quilt between my legs and the 'extra' pushed up against my scar as a cushioning. It does get better, I promise x

I’ve slept upright using my pregnancy pillow since my section 10 days ago, each night is getting easier & i’m nearly at the point of lying flat x

Have you got a U shaped pregnancy pillow? I’ve not had my section yet but will in 2 weeks time but had surgery in the same area last year and got a u shape pillow to keep me laying on my back & straight without turning too much and aggravating the area. And I used it to prop me up slightly higher behind me as well. That’s what I’m planning to do when I have my section :) Hope that helps

I’ve bought a travel neck pillow to help with mine so when I’m sleeping sat up, I’m not breaking my neck 😂

I slept upright in hospital for 2 nights and i was told off by the nurses 🙄 it's mad how quickly they expect you to recover from a major surgery! Taking out my catheter within 6 hours and expecting me to walk to the toilet unaided and back. X

Big U shaped maternity pillow and propped up in bed with plenty of pillows behind head/shoulders

with my last c section, they sent me home after 10 hours! I’m requesting to stay an extra night this time. I was in so much pain

I slept on a recliner armchair for 10 days after I got home, having a infection made it incredibly painful to get in and out of bed so I gave up, it does gets better, keep on top of pain meds xx

I sleep in a recliner for probably the first week

I could only sleep on my left side so swapped sides of the bed with my husband so I didn't have to twist to get on my left. The lowering down was the worst bit. I had a pillow to cuddle and protect my tummy and I had another behind my back to stop me rolling over. I was only able to sleep for a few hours at a time but I was able to sleep. I only kept waking up because I kept thinking I heard my daughter cry but she was always with her daddy. This position worked for me. It does get better soon. Hope it's of some help x

I laid on my side with the pregnancy pillow for my stomach to lay against

in the UK they discharge you as early as 22 hours x

10 hours 😱😭 what the hell x

Plenty of panadol and nurofen. I was prescribed tramadol, which was really helpful too

Pregnancy pillow all the way! I have on that can double over and mold it’s shape and it helped me sleep propped up and able to move to my side without needing to use my own strength

I slept in my side of woth pillow under me legs for a bit. My husband would nudge me in my sleep so I kept on the position as it helped whbe I woke up.
Whbe I got up for week I needed him to roil me as I couldn’t even do that 😂. Everything was fine by 6 week so you will
be fine. Good luck your doing amazing.

I had to sleep on my side using my pregnancy pillow. I would clench it against my tummy and partner would gently lower/lift me in bed. By week 2 i was able to sleep on my back again and it was heaven.

Sleep sitting up!! That’s honestly gonna be the most comfortable option right now

I was sent home after 10 hours, no additional pain relief just paracetamol and ibuprofen

@Kerrianne I was discharged home 10 hours after my emergency c-section, just told to take ibuprofen and paracetamol. Was a shock, but got into our routine quickly
