My daughter has just started nursery last week and is having such a hard time settling in. We have just done 2 settling-in-sessions and picked her up after 3 hours maximum. She always looks so sad and frightened, and it breaks my heart. She is now supposed to have her first real day, and I feel so guilty. When she hears the word nursery, she starts crying and clings to myself. She was never used to someone else taking care of her - she was ever only with me. In addition, they do the separation quite early during the settling process. I am used to settling in taking 4 to 6 weeks with the parents around.

My boy is starting nursery in ict when he turns 2 , but this month I've been going to the nursery with him just every other day really and staying as long as he wants to , I was feeling that he wouldn't like it but he seems OK with me . Is that not something you could do ?
