Swimming lessons

I’ve just booked for my LG to start swimming this week, what is best to put her in? I’ve seen some posts about happy nappy’s but was wondering if a normal swimming costume for baby is ok or is a wetsuit better? Of course with a swimming nappy either way.

Any recommendations and tips to make it easy and enjoyable welcome! X

I’d get a wetsuit, even the warm pool isn’t overly warm. We use a wet suit & a happy nappy. Remember they can’t regulate their own body temp :)

Get yourself dressed before (but remember some knickers) but don’t do baby before as none of it holds liquid, only solids. Dry & sort baby first & yourself after

Swimming nappy, neoprene nappy and a wetsuit. You can get neoprene nappies and wetsuits on vinted if you're on a budget, new ones can be pretty expensive! X

Thank you all! I will give the leisure centre a call today to find out their guidance as they haven’t sent me anything ☺️

Normally the places have regulations on this… we had to use swimming nappy and the neoprene trunks

We use wetsuit and happy nappy. Where we swim the pool is 32 C, and the whole area is very hot and humid, so the first time we went I took the wetsuit off of her, and she was shivering in the water. I think it depends on your baby too, as many other babies were in just a normal swimming costume and they seemed to be fine.
