I was referred by my midwife for a growth scan as I was measuring 90th centile for my bump, at 29 weeks I measured 10th centile (2lb 8) on the graph, today at 31 weeks I’ve dropped again to 3rd centile (2lb 14). Been told they’ll book me in for more growth scans but how do you cope with the anxiety and worry inbetween? Has anyone else experienced this?

I'm having scans every week alternating between growth scans and scans to check fluid levels and blood flow to cord ect, it is nerve wracking each time I go but I just make sure I write down any questions and concerns I have to talk about each time I go, I also go in between each scan mid week to have a CTG to check baby's heartrate and my blood pressure ect which is peace of mind too. It is a little scary but I just tell myself they know what they are doing and being very cautious keeping a close eye. Here if you need to talk xx

thanks so much for your comment! I’m waiting to hear what scans they will offer me and how frequently, I go on holiday next week for 2 weeks too which really isn’t good timing as it’s likely I’ll have to wait 3 weeks until I see anyone again 😔 what does your growth scan look like? xx

They will only perform growth scans every 2 weeks anyway, they told me they can't do them weekly, which is why in between they have been doing me a featal doppler scan, you don't really see much on thise as they concentrate on checking fluid and blood flow ect but growth scans are just same as other scans but they take their time to measure anything, this is my growth chart, today's hasn't been published yet but he's dropped a little more now too, I get worried when I've been for a scan and then by the following day my anxiety settles a little and I just make sure to monitor movements ect xx

I had this with my first pregnancy. It’s so hard to not worry but all you can do is manage risk factors if you have any such as smoking but in the meantime use every scan as an extra opportunity to see your baby. I was advised to carry on exercising to encourage blood flow. At 38 weeks my last growth scan showed my placenta had started to really slow down so I was induced at 39 weeks, my baby girl was born at 5lbs 5oz she was considered low birth weight but she did amazing after she was born and I got extra monitoring throughout my labour.
